Our stay was great! The hot tub was fantastic, the view was great, and the house was fully stocked. The only issues we had was that the guest bathroom door did not lock, there was only enough hot water for one quick shower, and the address does not bring you to the correct house. Other than that the house was fantastic and we would definitely stay there again.

Just okay, would probably not stay here again. Longer and rough drive into town. Directions to get to the place are not great. I understand this is dog friendly and I have dogs myself but there was a strong smell of dog urine.

What a beautiful little cabin in the mountains nestled into a quiet neighborhood with stunning views. The house is dog friendly and has a nice, spacious living room with sectional and a gas fireplace. The hot tub is very nice and feels wonderful on a crisp evening. Perfect house, host, and stay! Recommend highly

What an amazing stay! The house was spotless, super well-stocked, and even had dog bowls, treats, and poop bags—such thoughtful touches. The location was perfect: 30 minutes to Breckenridge, 15 to Fairplay, and awesome trails right nearby. We even spotted a moose! Couldn’t have asked for a better experience. We’ll 100% book with Second Home Rentals again. Thanks for making our vacation unforgettable!

Our stay was very enjoyable despite a two day delay for use of hot tub; we ended up troubleshooting and successfully getting it to heat up. Great home for non wintery months. A bit remote for traveling during snowy weather.

Great Secluded Property

Property and hosts were very accommodating. Property was secluded outside of Fairplay and away from distractions of town. Property offered great views of sunrises and stars and relaxation with hot tub. Overall excellent stay.

Fall Break

Great location with great views. Had an issue with property and contacted owner who were quick to respond and fix the issue. Wish there were gutters on roof to minimize drips on the steps which were slick in the cool mornings and evenings. Kitchen was well stocked with cooking supplies. Would stay here again.

Great stay

Only issue was the google maps gets you close but takes you to the wrong house and they also go through a company so sometimes it takes more detail to explain issues but they respond fast and make sure to get you the answers you need great stay really enjoyed

Christmas Disappointment

The property had many issues for me and my daughters. The property had two separate issues involving the lack of water. When we woke Tuesday morning there was no running water. The temperature was very cold 1 degree and we were told that perhaps water was frozen. Two days later when i tried to run the washing machine it stopped working and the code was because of lack of water. The hot tub was dirty -the water was foggy and pine needles were floating in it. Many dishes that were removed from the cabinets needed to be cleaned before they could be used. Two beds - the master and the queen sized bed had mouse droppings on them. The house is located on a downhill and two separate vehicles plowed into the property. Both drivers approached the house asking for us to help them. Since one of these incidents happened at night it was a frightening experience for my daughters. This man wanted us to tow him out or drive him home so it was unsettling to say the least. The stay was overpriced and a disappointment

Homey mountain escape

The property was beautiful and as described. My husband and I appreciated that it had a stocked kitchen. We were able to find what we needed to cook a meal. We really enjoyed our stay and want to book this location in the future.

Great pet friendly rental!

My partner and I stayed at this rental for a week with our dog and it was excellent! Very clean, nice amenities, and a really good deal on the price. The property managers were easy and quick to communicate with when we had questions. The road to the rental is not the most pleasant road but I don’t think that’s within their control so I won’t hold that against them. If you drive slowly and have a well equipped car for mountain terrain you will be fine. Our view was beautiful and the location is perfect to make day trips to Breck or Frisco. We would definitely stay here again!

Terrible road to the house. Great views, strong cell service and great internet

Pros: Great internet, great cell service, fairly secluded, quiet, great views, spacious house. The bed is pretty comfortable and overall the house was pretty clean. The hot tub was really nice. Cons: The road to this house is terrible. It's only two miles of dirt but it's about a 15-20 minute drive unless you're in a rental car and don't care. If you have a low-clearance car, watch the rocks or risk losing your oil pan and engine shortly thereafter. The house is good but it's obvious it was built as a rental. The finishes are pretty bad. Trim is uneven, the tile work is really bad and the stove has a gap around it exposing the wood under the tile counter. The more we looked, the worse it got, so we just stopped looking. The master bedroom shower is a borderline dangerous design requiring you to maneuver around two seats while not slipping to rinse your hair, then you have to duck to get out below the sliding doors. It seems that everywhere you turn you have something to bust your toe on, trim/bed frame/fireplace screen/etc. Would we stay here again? Maybe, if the price was still right.

Beautiful chaos

It is a beautiful location that is treacherous to get to, the hill up there is murder on vehicles. After all the bumps when parking the key of my mother's car would not come out, her battery died subsequently, and no tow service would come to such a remote location to jump her. The fridge leaked, and when we reported it, it was a known issue we were not told about. Then the roof leaked for 2 nights, they did send someone to come fix it. There was a jetted tub listed in the description, but no jetted tub, just the outdoor hot tub. Absolutely beautiful location, but so much chaos and things going wrong, we left early.

Quick Get Away

My husband, daughter, son-in-law, and two grandsons went for a quick four day get away to hike and enjoy the area. The house was clean, comfortable, and the kitchen was well appointed. Our four-legged babies enjoyed the area as well, we felt safe opening the door to let them go outside, and we didn't feel we had to watch them constantly.

Great getaway

Had a great stay for a week. One level home was good for kids (1 & 3) since we didnt have to worry about stairs. In the quiet wilderness but close enough to towns (10-15min) for food. Many opportunities for day trips to other towns.

A relaxing place to get away

I choose this place to get out of the city for a few days. We enjoyed the remote location as we were grieving. Sadly we didn't see any wildlife but maybe next time!
