“Very clean and spacious rooms. Good breakfast. Didn’t have dinner but the restaurant looked inviting and the old mill mechanism was very interesting. The pebbles on the pathway leading to the bedrooms made wheeling suitcases difficult but we got help from a staff member who carried them to our car.”

“Friendly reception and service. Room was non-smoking but one could notice it had been smoking before, every time at entering the room. Comfortable bed. It's clear the bathroom had been renovated, but why wasn't at least one hook installed to hang towel and/or clothes? Very frustrating, moreover as the (gliding) door wasn't of any help here either.”

“This is a good hotel for a stay of one or two nights. However, in general the building needs an update. Especially if I look to the price a paid for the room. The bathroom is clean but basic. “Overall a pleasant enough place to stay, but not outstanding. Proximity of our bedroom door to the pub’s toilets, with urinals in full view, was a little off putting, though no issue with noise. For our 3-day stay there was not sufficient clothes hanging space or drawers, the wardrobe being a small half height space shared with the kettle & coffee machine. We had to live out of our suitcase. Breakfast was adequate but not outstanding given the B&B rate.”

“The room we booked "Damson" was very well equipped, spolessly clean and very comfortable. The staff were exceptionally friendly and attentive giving good advice about both food and drink choices. “I arrived on New Years Eve, but the property hadn't warned me that the only food option was a three course meal at £44.50. Similarly on New Years Day, I went early for dinner at 6.15 to be told the kitchen closed at 6. No one had alerted me to the early closure. They did make me some Tapas. If I had known I would have eaten elsewhere before returning to hotel. The food on New Years Day was excellent, I just didn't want to spend that much money. ”
