“We knew this would be a no- frills place with a shared washroom and communal kitchen. However, I did expect to have a reasonably warm shower and electricity. We had neither. They only put on the generator intermittently (are we in a war zone?). Nice young girl greets us, but otherwise no staff seen. She mostly seems to sit on the porch on her phone. Place feels abandoned. So to be fair- pros: beautiful setting, close to Yo-Ho, cool old building, with LOTS of potential, bed reasonably...

“This 2-bedroom apartment (essentially one whole floor on ground level) is extremely clean, well-stocked with kitchen necessities, and organized (every cupboard is labelled on the outside). There are books and games for rain days. The view outside is amazing between two mountain ranges. The hot tub is in the front yard, but there is a privacy fence on two sides. Think of it as going to a public beach (though we didn't see anyone else when we were out there). The host is obviously very friendly...
