Wonderful Place to Stay !!

While our vacay was cut short due to Helene we absolutely loved the location. This beautiful cabin had everything you would need other than your groceries. Our host was wonderful and we will be back.

Okay cabin

Our code didn't work, so we had to call in order to get in the cabin. The cabin itself had a musty odor. Front porch was disappointing, dirt and cobwebs everywhere. Outside could use lots of trimming and upkeep. Average place to stay.

Good place to stay!

The only issue is the water drain is locate inside behind the washer and dryer. Therefore there was a strong smell of the water.

A cozy and refreshing getaway for a couple or small family.

Stayed here for our vacation over July 4th. It's very convenient to many of the local areas. It felt like our own little hideaway right off the highway. The property management company was very helpful and we were able to arrange an extra days stay. It was so nice ( though a bit steep) to be able to walk down to the river and dip our feet in it's cool refreshing water. If you're looking for a modern cabin this is not for you but if you are looking for a place to unplug and unwind while enjoying the refreshment the mountains offer this is perfect. Keep in mind if you are looking to cook a meal or two you might want to bring some of your kitchen supplies .There aren't many plugs but that truly is because this has all the charm of an old mountain home. We will definitely be keeping this property on our list of places to stay in the future.

Race Weekend at North Wilkesboro

Beds were comfortable. View was good. Privacy good. One bathroom made it less desirable for multiple people. Could tell this was an old cabin that had been dressed up, hence the 7' ceilings. Wished the yard would have been mowed prior to arrival. Parking wasn't ideal. With cabin being at the end of the road and a 15' drop off to the creek, it was a challenge to turn around. What would normally be a 3 point turn ended up being a 9 point turn with a full size truck. Overall, I would give it a 3 star rating.

Tucked away

The stay was enjoyable and very peaceful. During peak traffic hours you will get some noise behind the cabin (or people with loud mufflers). The creek is behind the sound of running water is very calming. Just a note for future stays. The road doesn't exist on Google maps. Just take it slow and do not listen to your GPS. Also, if you are over 6'2+ the ceilings are going to seem very low. Just be aware of you are claustrophobic. I can't count that against the cabin as things were very different decades ago. Enjoy the outdoors, the porch and listen to nature. It will be worth it.

Abundant Potential!

Super cute and cozy. Had everything we needed. Good internet service. This being said, and I hate to even ding this property because it was super cute/cozy, and the cost was very reasonable, but we had 4 concerns/issues with the property: 1. Parking- it is parking that is technically on street, but you are at a dead end street and technically your vehicles should be the only ones using it. This being said, if you have a car bigger than a Yukon, or multiple cars staying, it can get tricky turning around. If we had driven my husbands king bed truck we would have had to do a 20 point turn. 2. You can hear the faintest of traffic during high traffic hours. 3. The ceilings are low in areas, my husband is 6’2” and was about an inch from the ceiling in some areas. 4. I really hesitate this last one, because it is such a cute/cozy cabin and location, but the downstairs area had a *slight* odor… I contacted the company and they responded quickly and offered to have it cleaned, but we declined as we found it tolerable as we were spending most of our time outside of the house. Otherwise, truly a super cute and cozy property.

Started rough!

TV was not set up, we made the best if it after getting Netflix set up. I do appreciate the assistance we got. We also had a Pump go off for an hour at 3am. This pump was so loud, it was pretty tough! The last 2 days were great, had an awesome time, nice privacy!

Hidden Cabin

Highly recommend this cabin. My husband and I just returned from a four night stay here. It’s at the end of a one car lane, so very quiet and peaceful. There are only 2 other homes, on the other side of the creek. Perfect for a couple and furnished with all you need. Plenty of paper products to get you started. Enjoyed the porch facing the creek. Plenty of electric heaters for those chilly nights. My only con, and maybe it’s just me, there were no window coverings except in bedrooms. However, I drew the line when I pulled back shower curtain and there was a window with no covering. Putting up a towel solved that issue for me. I would suggest a a visit to West Jefferson, which’s just down the highway. Great downtown area with eating spots.

Great little get away!

Loved staying here. Smallish place with the bathroom off of the master bedroom on the ground floor. Amenities were more than adequate, wifi was great with fast network access. TV in living room (NETFLIX, YouTube, etc) and I believe there was one in the bedroom... did not use. Would definitely stay again!

What a great little cabin !

My daughter and I had a really nice time. We explored the creek and area around the cabin. We came to spend time near app state but ended up spending as much time at the cabin as we did in Boone. We will be back !

Rest and relaxation

From the time you drive onto the the private drive you immediately feel peaceful! The sounds of the flowing creek lull you into relaxation. The cabin is nicely furnished and clean. Then you top off your evening with a nice fire, making s’mores and watching lightening bugs!! A true retreat!

This is a great cabin, with a great view. The creek is amazing (I don't know if there is fish in the creek). Cabin was very clean. Will go again for sure.

High Country Hide Away

Everything you need to unplug and relax. The cabin is beautiful and the property is just what we wanted to escape for a long weekend. The hidden cabin had what we need to cook for ourselves and was within driving distance of wonderful restaurants.

Relaxing Getaway

My husband and I wanted to find a more "COVID" friendly vacation setting where we could just enjoy the outdoors with our dogs. This cabin was perfect for our needs. It was clean, comfortable, and the location right by the creek was perfect. We enjoyed fishing right off the front yard, grilling, and bonfires at night. Even though this cabin feels secluded just like we wanted, it is conveniently located to major roads and is almost equidistant between Boone and West Jefferson, making day outings to go shopping and site seeing very convenient. The property manager was very helpful with any questions and we were even able to extend our vacation a day before and after our reservation for a discount. The only slight negative was there is a little bit of an odor from the water connection by the washer and dryer but we were able to cover it up with a candle. Thank you for a relaxing week!

Mountain Getaway

The location was great. The kids enjoyed exploring the property and playing in the river just outside the door. We took day trips to Boone. Location is close to the blue ridge parkway and several great hiking locations. The house was well equipped and comfortable. Unfortunately when we arrive the trash from the previous guest had not been picked up. Also there were mouse droppings all over the kitchen. We saw mouse on our last night :(

Mountain Love

Our stay was a wonderful magical… Our stay was a wonderful magical experience. We arrived to find the cabin just a few feet from a flowing river nestled in a mountain.. Lots to explore. A way to appreciate the beauty surrounding us. The inside of the cabin was homey, comfortable and was just like home. Each window had a awesome view. My 1e yr old barley thought of video games! My only safety concern was the top landing of the stairs being so open, I placed a basket out side each door as a reminder not to walk directly out the door for fear of falling.we only stayed a week, would have much rather stayed longer like 3 weeks or 3 years!
