While the check-in process was smooth, our experience raised serious safety concerns that ultimately led us to leave shortly after arrival.Upon entering the property, we discovered that the exterior door from the living room was unlocked, along with a window in the children’s room. This immediately raised concerns about the security of the home. The property is also located directly behind a Chevron gas station, which contributed to a higher level of activity in the immediate area. Within a short time of arriving, there was a police incident involving individuals on bikes directly behind the parking area, which was very alarming for our family.Due to these issues, we did not feel safe staying at the property and made the decision to leave. We reached out to the property owner to request a refund, but it took a couple of days and a follow-up message to receive a response. We were then directed to submit a support ticket through VRBO to request a refund, which we have done. We are hopeful this will be resolved and that we will receive a refund for the unused nights.Unfortunately, this experience was disappointing, and I would strongly encourage the host to address these safety and communication concerns for future guests.
