“We stayed in room 11 which was lovely, decorated well and had a very large bathroom with a free standing bath. Breakfast was great with a good choice. Lisa was extremely helpful and having the option to be taken and brought back from nearby restaurants was an added touch, as well as the electric charging points”

“Stayed at the George Washington in room 6 on 15th July. Room very nice and clean with tea and coffee making facilities, hairdryer provided flatscreen tv and nice shower and towels. Had our evening meal here to very nice chicken madras and the homemade steak pudding washed down with some nice red wine. “Top class rooms, entry, location. Very minor point, private terrace area could do with improved seating but we used our own camping chairs so not a problem. Tesco express a few yards away was excellent. An excellent spot to stay.”

“Lovely quiet location on the edge of Cartmel with good road connections to the tourist areas of the Lakes. The place was spotless and well equipped but they really do only include bedding, towels and loo roll. Whatever else you need make sure you take it with you. It lacked hanging space for clothes in the bedroom and any place to put your cases. We were surprised it was a semi detached building, we could hear a lot of noise, especially doors closing in the attached unit. I would still recommend...

“A classic 18 century coaching in with Ultra modern facilities and Michelin level food the staff are really helpful and can’t do too much for us helping us tune our TV to ensure that we had ability to watch the World Cup games. The food is a different level to coaching and could be a Michelin star restaurant the court outstanding and the quantity very generous. I would highly recommend this coaching in the Brown horse for either stay or a meal either way you’ll enjoy yourself. I’ll probably keep...
