My family and I rented this property from 8/6-8/13. The home was very nice, spacious and was in a good location. Unfortunately, the positives are few and do not outweigh the negative experience we had with Re/Max, who is the host. Upon arrival, there were 2 cleaning people in our home still cleaning. Check in is at 3pm, we arrived at 530pm. They stated they had only been there for an hour, and continued to be there for an additional hour and a half after our arrival. They asked us if we wanted them to clean the floors, to which we said yes. They proceeded to only clean the entryway flooring and part of the living room area with a light mist and swiffer. The floors and entire house was filthy. We found dust and hair balls, the comforters provided were not laundered, some of the furniture was stained, the kitchen mats and entryway mat were stained. Living in a time during covid, I would think cleanliness would be a top priority and it was not. There was also trash bins full of garbage in the garage that left a disgusting smell. Trash pick up is once a week on Monday, meaning we would have to wait 2 days to get rid of the trash (we came on a Saturday). Lastly, the kitchen sink was clogged, not draining and the garbage disposal was not working. We decided to call Re/Max to let them know of the issues we encountered on our first day there. Lauren Price was the Re/Max agent that returned our call and she was far from empathetic, professional, or helpful. For the clogged sink, she offered a repair man who did come the same day and fixed the issue. During our interactions, Lauren was constantly speaking over me, she was not apologetic at all for our inconvenience. She was not flexible about a later check out time, or offer any other kind of assistance. She send the cleaning company back the next day to continue to clean the house, which at that point we declined for multiple reasons 1) All of our belongings were already settled and we did not feel comfortable having them there while we were out 2)We did not want any more of our time imposed on by the cleaning company 3)We had already bought cleaning products ourselves to clean the floors and bathrooms, since we have young children in our party. Please be advised that all Re/Max cares about is their contract, and not customer satisfaction. If the agent had a more professional and empathetic we would have been more understanding, however her cold and contractual manner made this very uncomfortable.
