The Stables Cottage was the perfect place to relax and unwind for the weekend. So peaceful and the view from the deck both day and night was incredible. The cottage is beautifully appointed inside, everything you need, just bring food and drinks. John is a so warm and friendly, full of local knowledge, such a great host. We will definitely be back again!

John and Sarah were very welcoming. The location was ideal for a relaxing time and the cottage fitted out in a style that suited its history. We enjoyed our week exploring the local area and chilling out on the veranfah overlooking the river.

A really lovely stay

We were using it as a base to attend a course nearby, so didn't get to enjoy it as much during the day as it deserves.It is a beautiful restful spot and great accommodation.

We had a very relaxing stay. The cottage is set in a beautiful rural area and yet only 45 minutes from the lake which is an absolute must to visit. Our only comment is to use caution with the kitchen taps as the hot water is very hot.

Beautiful cottage!

We had a very comfortable and cosy stay at the Stable Cottage. The garden is absolutely beautiful and John and Sarah were wonderful hosts. We will definitely be back!

We had an issue with charging the car - one night it charged as expected, but the other night it was very slow and had only charged to 90% by the morning. Fortunately that was enough for us to get to Rotorua via Waikarimoana, but we were a bit anxious when we set off. BTW, the kitchen is well equipped but you will need to bring ALL your food - even salt and pepper.

Lovely stay, lovely cottage and environment

We loved our stay here, clean, comfortable and tastefully decorated in lovely furnishings and rustic charm. River put the back and view fabulous and private lawn and trees and flowers in front very beautiful.

Really cute cottage

We loved the cottage. Lots of cool art and tools. Beds were comfortable. The owner was fantastic, very helpful.

Clean, comfortable and full of character!

Adorable character cottage in a beautiful location. Learning some history about the local area from John and his book was an added bonus. The whole family loved every moment of our stay. Thanks John :)

We loved the privacy, and the park like setting. The host John was very helpful. Replaced the washing machine and fixed the temperature on the hot water heater. Absolutely loved the fresh lemons and grapefruit. Thank you!

Idyllic retreat in the country

Started with excellent communication prior to arrival. John and Sarah were wonderful hosts. The setting/location is beautiful. This quaint cottage has been tastefully modernised and provided everything we needed for our long weekend stay. Thoroughly recommend this property and the hosts.
