Whale watching from the deck

What an incredible home on the shore of San Juan Island! Our family loved our stay, we saw orcas, humpbacks, and harbor seals from the back porch - you cannot beat this view.

Lovely home with a fantastic view

We loved staying here. It was exactly as it looked in the pictures, especially the view! We loved relaxing on the back deck and we even had a little sea otter friend who visited our beach every day. Close enough to town to get there easily but far enough away that we felt like we were in our own private sanctuary. Would definitely stay here again!

This was the perfect place to stay Before the Half Marathon!! You cannot beat the view on the deck and we had plenty of room!!

Clean, roomy, great view, easy drive to Roche Harbor or Friday Harbor.Big drawback: hot tub stopped working after 10 minutes of use, and needed parts that would not arrive until after our visit was over. Rental agency was responsive when I called.

A Nice Getaway

We had a wonderful experience. There was plenty of room for just two of us. The kitchen was well stocked with utensils and spices. The hot tub area was improved and updated from the pictures. So that was nice. We would stay here again.

Spring break

The house was amazing! My family of four had a wonderful spring break on the island. We had busy days and coming back to the house with a hot tub and a place to have a fire outside was so nice. You seriously can’t beat the views either. We would totally stay again. Also, my family is still talking about how comfortable the beds were.

The view of the Bay was spectacular even though we were not lucky enough to see any whales. A deer graced us with her presence the first morning. Bring your own hairdryer.

Lovely home!

The house location and views are outstanding. There was a surplus of cooking utensils, dishware, appliances, and bedding. The check in process was super easy and clear. One suggestion would be to have coffee on hand. Overall such a great stay, thank you very much!

Cozy Island Retreat with Water View

We enjoyed watching the storm, and luckily did not lose power. Bring your flashlights just in case if you're visiting during storm season.

The hot tub wasnin an overgrown edge of the property and not convertible or easy to use kind of awkward and not as pictured.. The big one for us was there are pictures of outdoor snd indoor fire pits and places... none are operational and blocked off this was never disclosed.. making it feel as though we we could not use the property as advertised ! I would have definitely chosen a different property if it was advertised honestly!

What a view!

The view was exceptional! Besides all the boats we saw whales, deer, otters and seals. The sunsets were beautiful. We loved our time on the deck. It's true that house is a little tired and the kitchen is dated, but that did not really distract from our stay. The house was very clean and well stocked, and the hot tub very well maintained. We have stayed in many rentals and would rate this one very high.

Nothing beats this view

What a stunning view and hot tub! The house was comfortable and felt homey. This isn’t a pristine home or property, which didn’t bother us but felt different than the listing a bit. It feels like a cozy, well-loved gma-like cabin with comfortable furniture and also a bit of deferred maintenance in places. Overall, you can’t beat this view and the hot tub was perfect (though the approach and path was a bit precarious). Enjoyed our stay and hot tub experience!

Beautiful waterfront setting on San Juan Island

We really enjoyed our stay at "The Space Between" looking out toward Henry Island. Everything was great-- the kitchen was well supplied, the hot tub was great, and the view was gorgeous. Our suggestions to make improvement would be: 1) get a rug for the livingroom space, and 2) get a better table and chairs for the dining space. It felt a bit sparse, and the "quality" of the furnishings could be upgraded. Otherwise, we loved it.

Terrific views

This was a lovely home that offered beautiful views of Vancouver and Henry Islands with amazing sunsets. We had seals in our backyard every morning and every night as well, and 2 deer that would come in the front yard as well. We even briefly saw the humpback whale across Haro Strait!!! The outside flora could have used a mow or some more maintenance, the upstairs mattresses were uncomfortable, and the pots and pans could be updated (we had a hard time cooking breakfast in a couple of them) but that’s just being nit picky. We would come back in a heart beat!!!

Ideal Location with a Funky Cottage Vibe

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Great week in the San Juans at an ideal location -- peaceful retreat on the west side of the island, only 20 min from the bustle of Friday Harbor. Cottage was very clean and well-stocked with cleaning supplies, towels, etc. If you plan to cook, you will need to bring supplies and coffee, but there are also great local options to try -- Westcott Bay Shellfish is just up the road. Enjoy your morning coffee on the deck and say hello to the seals that will swim by. Go down the road to the alpaca farm to see the alpacas and (if you are a knitter) add to your yarn stash! We comfortably had 6 adults for a 5 night stay and it was great. Our family also liked the casual cottage vibe -- this is not some sterile ultra luxe condo -- it is a charming family cottage, with interesting books, games, and decor. And it was a great home base for our San Juan Island holiday. The management company was also great -- excellent communication and responsiveness.
