We had an amazing stay at this property! Was in a perfect location, the staff were amazing, and the room was great! Exactly what we needed for our stay in Maderia! Highly reccomend!

Was very beautiful and clean. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Very centrally located and walkable. Breakfast was buffet style and plentiful. Would stay there again. Lots of restaurants and shops close by.

Great location, clean and spacious room. It’s a bit loud if there are people talking in the hall (room right by reception) and the towels are a bit scratchy and could be replaced, but overall a wonderful stay. Jaime in reception was so kind.

Convenient in the old town area. Close to public transportation and plenty of restaurants. Breakfast had plenty of options. Room was suitable for a short 1-2 days. Bed was very comfortable. Overall good value for money.

We loved Zarco!

We loved Zarco! The staff was excellent, the room was great, the breakfast was excellent, the location really worked for us. Only negative was mosquitoes but that was our own fault as they came in when we opened the window. Our room had an airconditioner but we were trying to be eco-friendly.

The propriety was very good, with clean rooms and places. But the smell of the sewer was really bad. Talked with the hotel staff and the y told me that is a problem depending of the heights of the ocean and they couldn't do nothing about that, It is a city problem. The problem was minimized when I close all the sewer vents in the bath room, and kept a sink full of water and the toilette always closed. Unfortunely is an island problem.

Fab location

Fairly basic but very modern and clean hotel. Think it must have been recently refurbed. My room was facing the square it was a little small but fine. I did see a few other rooms when the doors were open being cleaned and they looked a lot smaller than my room. I had windows over looking the square and the church tower which was very nice. Although I can imagine it might be noisey on weekends it was fine during my 3 night stay in the week. Breakfast very basic only cold things but was okay. Staff friendly and they let me leave my bags after checkout. Would stay again cannot beat the location so central. It you want a hotel with a pool and bigger rooms etc you are better looking at one outside the centre a little but for location this is brill and good value for money.

We chose this property for it's location and it was perfect for being in the heart of the old city and close to what we wanted to do / see for our short stay in Funchal. We arrived on a late flight and reached the hotel about 1am (took the Aerobus for 5e it worked great). The man at the hotel reception was wonderful - kind and generous. The room was clean and basic. It's recently renovated / updated. Our only complaint is the area has several Poncha bars and it appears they are open all night. They were still going at 1am after we checked in. It was mostly music coming from the bars that we could hear. Our room faced the square directly across from one of the offending bars. We had earplugs and turned on the air condition and closed the windows so we were able to drown out the noise and sleep. That was certainly the only downside, and if I stayed again, I'd specifically request a room on the back side of the hotel away from the noisy square. The breakfast was included and it was a good selection of items. We had an early morning flight (left at 4am) and again, the man at the hotel reception had a breakfast packed for us to take and had our taxi waiting. Truly friendly service oriented hotel.

The property could not be in a better location for exploring the island. Central location with buses 2 minutes from property. Rooms small but functional but building can be noisey at times with other guests on the stairway. Breakfast was basic but theres plenty of bars and cafes within a 2 minute walk.

Habitación sin luz natural.

Me alojaron en una habitación sin luz natural, con un ventanuco a un pasillo oscuro. De dimensiones disminuyan con los brazos extendidos tocaba las paredes laterales. La caja fuerte estaba inutilizada y no estaba fija, se podía llevar por su poco peso. Tampoco había colgadores en la pared. El televisor estaba a tanta altura que la única manera de verlo era acostándose en la cama. El desayuno poca variedad, con algo de fruta; el agua caliente se agotaba cuando los usuarios la utilizaban, por lo que estaba fría a media mañana y por la tarde.

We had a lovely stay here while visiting Madeira. The staff was super friendly, the room was nice and clean and despite the fact that the B&B is located in the middle of the city center, there was no street noise in the room. Perfect place to stay with all of Funchal center in walking distance.

Bon séjour. Bien placé. Hôtel sympa

Bon accueil et hôtel bien placé avec vue sur une placette sympa. Inconvénient si on donne sur cette place on a des remontées d'odeurs du snack d'en dessous. Belle chambre et salle de bain spacieuse. Literie très confortable. Petit déjeuner correctement achalandé mais café léger. Grand escalier à monter avant d'accéder à la réception.

Die Unterkunft wurde nach Jahren endlich neu renoviert und hat jetzt einen modernen Touch bekommen. Es ist alles strukturierter, die Zimmer haben alle Namen mit den bekanntesten Wanderwegen auf Madeira. Das Personal ist zurückhaltend, aber freundlich. Der Frühstücksraum hat mir gut gefallen, alles hell und freundlich. Das Buffet war gut sortiert und ausreichend. Zum Zimmer selbst, dass ich gebucht hatte, war eher ein Abstellraum, viel zu schmal, ohne Fenster!!! - somit hatte ich auch kein Tageslicht und frische Luft. Als Schlafplatz wohl geeignet, aber nicht um einen angenehmen Urlaub dort zu verbringen. Ein kleines Bad mit Dusche gehörte mit zum Zimmer, was mit einem stark reichenden, aufgestellten Zimtaromaöl Spender gegen den eigentlich muffigen Duft überlagert werden sollte. Das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis für diese Unterkunft ist schon überhöht, zumal man für dieses Geld schon ein 3 Sterne Hotel mit höherem Komfort bekommt, ( z. B. Hotel Orquidea)

Central hotel with charm.

Very good central location in Funchal. The staff was very friendly and service minded. Our dog was also welcome (a small additional fee). One of our room had a quite smelly bathroom but overall this is a priceworthy hotel in the city rather than in Lido where the majority of the hotels are located.
