This was a wonderful place for our wedding night. The beds were extremely comfy and I never enjoy hotel beds. The rooms were spacious and the kitchen offered everything you would need and all cabinets were neaty labeled for easy accessibility. The hot tub was definitely the most enjoyable part of the experience. We had glasses of champagne and talked for hours in the hot tub. Excellent stay and I will be back for a couple weekend getaway!!!

An Amazing Fall Getaway at the Whiskey Barrel Farmhouse!Our stay at the Whiskey Barrel Farmhouse was absolutely perfect! The property is stunning in the fall-my kids and my dog had the best time playing in the colorful leaves. We even took family photos on the gorgeous wooden bridge, and the horse wandered into the background, making the pictures even more magical.The house itself was super clean, cozy, and beautifully maintained. The hot tub was such a relaxing bonus after our long days exploring and playing outside. It truly felt like the perfect autumn escape.We loved it so much that we’re already hoping to book again for Thanksgiving next year. Highly recommend this property for anyone looking for a peaceful, picturesque, and family-friendly farmhouse stay!

The home itself was beautiful and in a great location, but unfortunately, our experience was ruined by a roach infestation that started on our second night. We began seeing roaches in the kitchen, and the next morning, baby roaches were crawling inside a loaf of bread we had just purchased the day before.I immediately contacted the property manager and sent photos. When she came to inspect, she pulled out the bottom drawer under the stove and found two sticky traps already placed there — one of which had seven or eight large roaches stuck to it. That made it clear the problem existed before our stay. She applied powder behind the stove and sink, but we continued to see baby roaches every night afterward.The manager said the owner would reach out about a partial refund, but no one ever contacted me. Later, I was told the owner would only refund one night, which felt unfair given that the infestation was ongoing and clearly pre-existing. To make matters worse, after our stay, I was charged a pet fee even though I had reached out multiple times before arrival (on the 5th, 11th, and 20th) to pay it in advance as they stated its to be paid 3 days prior to arrival. It’s disappointing because the home itself was lovely, but the cleanliness, pest issue, and lack of proper follow-up made for a stressful and unpleasant experience. I hope management addresses this properly for future guests.

We were very disappointed in the cleanliness of the outdoor space- furniture not at all clean. The area was nice but we didn’t use. The kitchen was clean and well stocked with dishes, etc. The fan in the downstairs bedroom was filthy. The grill was dirty and the hot tub lid was moldy- although the hot tub itself was clean. We did enjoy the quiet and horses. There was something that appeared to be spots of mold in the main floor bathroom wall

Great quiet place close to Road Atlanta race track

Well furnished, clean, quiet (except for the cicadas, which I don't mind). Easy to get to, the hosts were great communicators. Don't forget to grab some carrots for the horses!

We chose the location to be close by for a wedding. The home has everything you could ever need and more. The online description was perfect. Our communication before, during, and after the stay was excellent. We will definitely stay here again in the future. Thank you for a wonderful place to stay!

We had an amazing stay, but.....

We rented this home for my niece's birthday 5th birthday party. It was an Alice in Wonderland-themed party and this property was perfect for that setting. The property, the house, the hot tub, and the horses were all perfect! The manager, Carla, was extremely communicative for anything that we needed at any time. She even got the house ready for us to check in a day early! The stay was perfect and we had lots of family in and out to visit the property. The only issue I would bring up is this: After checking out, we received a phone call from an irked Carla falsely accusing us of smoking in the house, leaving it completely trashed, etc. After the call, I received many text messages of photos from all the atrocities. There were a few dishes in the sink, a bowl that was left downstairs, a table moved askew on the deck, and a corn hole game, which we deliberately left thinking they would enjoy it. It really just kind of put a spoiler on the perfect week we had just had, especially when they had just sent us a message saying "this is your vacation, clean if you want to."

IMSA race at Road Atlanta

We booked this as it fit our needs and was close to Road Atlanta race track. Found it comfortable and calming set in the woods. Had several interactions with Carla, the property manager. She is responsive and helpful. Due to the weather and time at the track we didn't get to spend a lot of time outside. We would go back!

Roomy A frame with spiders

The house is great: 3 floors, 3 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms. Nice sitting areas insideandoutside. Kitchen works, but watch your head & bring your own skillet. Too hot to use the hot tub. We enjoyed AC inside. Even though they said they knocked them down before we arrived, spiders & webs were all over the porch areas, stairs, & chairs. We really had to watch where we walked. (Took a broom to them & they did not reappear the next day.) After our 3 night stay, we went straight to a car wash to be sure we didn’t travel with them. They are interesting, but very encroaching creatures! Be forewarned: The day of checkout, we were charged $500! They said it was for any damage done & was "just pending". However, no mention of this was made in any communication we had online. Also, there are 3 points of contact- Vrbo, the owner, & the caretaker. It was a bit confusing. It's furnished well (except the bed in basement sinks in the middle). TV works well. Nice gas stove. They've made the most of the square footage. Horses were pretty to see. It's peaceful that way, just needs regular maintenance especially outdoors.

Baseball week getaway

Tucked back among the trees this precious A frame house is a charmer. Enjoyed the hot tub it was very clean and was able to feed the horses. Loved watching them graze. We did not cook in this house, but it looked well equipped. 3 bedrooms one on each level. Only one bedroom can be accessed without using stairs. House is clean and we enjoyed the peace and quite. Would stay here again.

The place was great. We loved the horses, land, comfortable beds, organized kitchen, big hot tub, fire pit, company and exactly what we needed in the kitchen. If we all had wished for something more …. It would have been some sunshine…. Since that did not happen we wish that the areas in the pictures that looked covered…. We wish one had a solid roof so we could be outside in rain and still be dry. Place was truly awesome for our needs. Thank you! Loved it

A romantic, secluded vacation—and our dogs had so much fun too!

We had such a lovely time! We picked this location for its secluded nature and its dog-friendliness. We were not disappointed! We enjoyed spending most of our time on-property. Our dogs had a BIG time running through the woods, the hot tub was lovely, and the property manager was very friendly, communicative, and promptly resolved a tiny issue we had. The bed was comfortable and the kitchen was lovely. Wifi was really good! My partner had to work for a day and take a video call with great speeds. Huge plus! Regarding other reviewers’ mentions of a long list of rules—the only rules we read were meant to keep people and animals safe. Some mentioned things that are common sense for people who live with them (like living on a septic tank—there are some reasonable considerations there) but wouldn’t be common sense for people who are not. We found the rules entirely reasonable, the owners’ welcome letter warm and personable, and were so grateful with the care and concern they clearly take for each guest and all their animals. We would highly recommend this property for romance, remote working, and puppies, and would certainly stay again!

Not as advertised

The property itself was fine. However, as soon as we reserved, we started getting emails from third party entities that owned and/or managed the property: Salty Dog Vacations and Whiskey Barrel Farmhouse. I am used to getting direct texts or emails from the owner. An attempt was made to charge us a second pet fee through one of these third party entities. I had to forward the original reservation to the owner to show that I had already paid. Check in time on VRBO was listed as 3:00 PM; third party entity tried to change it to 4:00PM and charge an extra fee. We received an almost 3 page list of do's and don'ts which made us nervous to do anything while there. We received multiple emails about check out time, both the day before leaving, and that morning, also stating we would be charged extra if we left late. So we were very rushed trying to get out in time-left 2 items, one of which was of sentimental value. Through multiple communications with the caretaker who live across the street-I finally had to send a prepaid box to her; and still it was over a week after that before she put the items in her mailbox. We did not receive the items until 5 weeks later.

Cute house

This is a cozy house perfect for our group consisting of 3 couples. There is a bedroom & bathroom on each of the three floors. This allowed for separation and privacy. The kitchen was a nice gathering area for breakfast and for chatting. The property is secluded and quiet. There are 2 horses. We saw deer and a heron. After we checked in the manager/ care taker of the property was quick to respond to our requests.

One hour to mountains

Unfortunately the first thing that hit us when we opened the door was a smell, probably from pets that had been in the property but it was very off putting for us. Property manager did drop off some Lysol the next day which we used to try and eliminate the smell. We found several bugs around the cabin, both dead and alive. The place looks larger in the photos and could use some TLC. The sofas were very comfortable with reclining positions to watch TV. The list of things to do and NOT to do were so long that we had to re-read so we didn't forget anything. Proximity to shops was a bonus.
