Great vaca in Galveston

Makin Waves is a great place to stay on Galveston island. Our family, (grandparents, parents n a 2 and 4 year old) met for a weekend at the beach and it couldnt have gone better. The location is in a great neighborhood, close to the beach and the house is well equipped tand attractive and house is attractive

Amazing beach weekend! Even during Fall!

Our stay was perfect for an extended family getaway! I can be a little bit of a clean freak- but this house was spotless! Just like the photos! The location is also one of my favorites on the island; a beautiful and calm neighborhood with amenities and a very short walk to the beach (less than 5 min). We were a little nervous about it being too chilly in October, but the hot tub was a huge bonus. It was very nice to hop in and wind down after a long day. We will definitely be booking this property again next time we are in Galveston!

A & M Graduate Celebration

My son graduated from Texas A & M on Aug 10 and because regular school had started for the younger grandchildren so we took a quick trip to Galveston. We knew we wanted to congratulate my son in some way and this ended up being perfect. The location was very convenient, the house wa exactly as described and very clean. We could not have picked out a better home for my family. The hot tub was a big hit for the youngsters and the yard was perfect for our fur babies. We will definitely be back! Oh and the host was was very communicative and made sure we checked in with it out any issues or concerns. Has some great suggestions on restaurants. Thank you for sharing your home with us.

Poor maintenance of property

I was pleasantly surprised that we were able to check in early by 4 hours. They also allowed for us to add an extra dog to the stay for an additional pet deposit of $50. Unfortunately the property had a lot of issues with it. Beginning with the trash outside the property, there was a red hat and beer cans left outside the gate. When entering there were several broken items, such as a folding chair, a water gun, and other “beach things” that weren’t usable, but likely left behind by other guests and never disposed of. The inside has several issues as well. The floor was uneven in several places, foundation issues surely. There were not enough towels for each person, nor a washer and dryer to clean the used ones. The kitchen had sugar ants everywhere you can think of. Around the sink, around the oven top, even where some of the cooking ware was stored. The dish washer had broken metal, which created rust and sharp edges on the top and bottom racks. The fact that I had to constantly kill ants while cooking was just disgusting. We were forced to mainly eat out during our stay. Lastly, the listing stated there was a number for the community pool where tickets could be purchased ahead of time. I made several attempts to call the office, with no return calls. We arrived Friday, and were told that the office is closed on Saturday which was when the response came from listing manager. So we were unable to use the pool, which was mainly the reason we picked the listing.

Beautiful home away from home!

Makin waves was nice and modern. Had plenty of towels in each bathroom. Very roomy! Extra cots if needed in closet. Playpen and toddler booster chair for the littles. Chair came handy bc I forgot to pack mine. Anything you need to use for cooking meals for the family is at your reach. Under the house chill spot was great and relaxing. Hot tub, tv, and the lighting was a nice touch. Definitely recommend this beach house! Andrew was a great host. Keeping me informed and replying back quickly. We will be back and stay longer next time!

My sons 16th birthday

We came down to Galveston, for my sons 16 birthday , with family and friends. The house was clean and had a great setup. Convenient location great neighborhood love the fact there is a restaurant in the neighborhood. Great amenities, downstairs was a hit with the kids. Beach is within walking distance. The kitchen is a nice size and has everything u could need to cook your family a hot meal. Hope to come back soon

Great Rental! Exactly as described

The process was very easy, the place was very clean and smelled great. Everything was easy to find (wifi, extra linens, instructions for hottub, etc). Thanks for making the process easy. I would rent this one again. There was a small problem with the gate one of my guests caused as we left, but the owner reached out to me and was very reasonable. I haven't heard anything back, so I assume everything is ok now!

Perfect getaway!

My family and I really enjoyed our stay here during spring break. The property was very clean, location is great, and the property owner was quick with communicating. We loved the marina down the road where you can get some drinks, food, or souvenirs from the gift shop. Since it was chillier than usual, the hot tub came in handy! Overall this was a wonderful home and would highly recommend.

Adorable home

Adorable home in Jamaica Beach! Plenty of space for 5 adults and 6 children. Loved that the kids had their own space and bunk beds! We were able to walk to the beach or stay in and enjoy the hot tub! Great place to stay and Andrew was very helpful!

Ray Family Vacation

We had a wonderful time staying at your Makin Waves vacation home! Everything was close to perfect!! We had a few hiccups when we first arrived, but Mr. Mueller was very considerate & helped in every way possible to make our stay in his beautiful vacation home as perfect as possible!! We would definitely stay at this home again if given the time/opportunity! Mr. Mueller was quick & considerate to help us make the best of our family vacay! Thank again, Mr.Mueller!! I will be emailing him a list of things that he was not aware of, I'm almost certain. Other than those few minor things, our family enjoyed every moment of our family vacay!! God bless you & yours!

Makinwaves and memories

We had a wonderful time. Beach house was super clean upon arrival. Beach access easy walk or drive. Private dock definitely a solid for the guys. We will be back.
