Disclosure: we did stay the full length of booked stay (7 nights) due to the fact compensation was not offered and limited availability elsewhere with the busyness of the season. I don’t normally do reviews, but with the money spent on this stay this review is needed. This cabin needs a deep cleaning severely bad. We arrived at dark and there are no working lights on the front porch what so ever so we couldn’t see where we were walking to get into the cabin. The flooring in the cabin is coming up in multiple areas and needs to be replaced. The place looked like it had not been cleaned in months/if at all. There was dirt and trash all over the carpets/rugs, pills on the ground, tissues under the bed, balls of hair on the baseboards in the bathroom, cobwebs and layers of dust throughout the cabin. We couldn’t even use the bedding without washing it first because there was crusty white stuff on the bedding. We ended up taking the top sheets off and washing the fitted sheet and sleeping on that because we felt so gross. We messaged the host through Vrbo with pictures, and after a day he responded saying sorry for the inconvenience. Needless to say, there are plenty of good reviews, but please don’t let that fool you. Hopefully the property gets the proper TLC it needs badly.

View wonderful. Main shower wonderful. Owner: bottom tile are not sealed properly. If not fixed you'll have issues. Place needs lots of care. Cobwebs everywhere . Debris under furniture. Asked for leaves to be blown. Never happened with long stay. Wood porch felt weak in places. Be cautious. Hot tub lower level so view was not as good as up top. Tv takes a long time engage. Couldn't put it on first day and no one came to help and couldn't help on the phone. Played around with it more the following day to figure it out on our own. Outdoor patio area unusable (safe?) and very dirty. Nice location. Central to lots. Hoped to see wildlife but beautiful none the less.

Dead bugs on the game room window sill and floor. The inside logs need to be dusted. The couch and recliner were Chlorox wiped and the recliner was quite dirty.Baseboards need to be dusted. There needs to be a larger address sign with some type of lighting - current one hard to see in the dark

The cabin was in a good location for what places we had planned to visit in the GSM Park. The cabin needs some TLC. The spiderwebs were terrible inside and outside on the deck. Doesn’t have an outside fire pit. Has a nice table and chairs in its place but was covered with leaves and deck boards around it were soft.Didn’t want to walk or set there. The beds were good. Plenty of space for 4 of us. Would stay there again if it had a good cleaning and upkeep.

Gorgeous View

The cabin was cozy and plenty of room for a family of five. The view from the back deck was gorgeous, and we had the perfect view of the beauty of the Smoky Mountains! The hot tub and pool table were great additions to the house, and we loved being in a secluded area away from the busy tourist areas.

I’ll start with the pros:1. Easy checkin2. Great location3. Fantastic views4. Enough parkingNow for the not so pros:1. The cabin, inside and out was filthy. It looked like it had not been rented in quite a while and was not checked over before being turned over to us. 2. Hot tub had not chemicals in it, as evidenced by the incredibly strong mold odor and BLACK inside cover on the tub. 3. Decks were not cleaned, spider webs everywhere, outdoor seating area covered in debris, charcoal briquettes on the deck. 4. Indoor carpets had debris on them. 5. Counters and cabinets coated in grime. 6. Every single dish, utensil, pot and pan had to be washed. 7. Fireplace not allowed to be used between the months of May through October. No notice of this was provided prior to renting the unit. When I finally was able to reach the property manager I politely told him about the state of his cabin, and provided pictures for proof because it didn’t seem like anyone gave this cabin a once over. I wasn’t seeking anything from him and I sure didn’t get anything, not even an apology. Just was told that the cleaning people they use clean his personal property and he has no problems with them. Booked this cabin due to the reviews and the views, I hope this review will warn you off.

Terrific spot in the mountains away from the gimmicks of Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg

The family (two parents, 7 year old and 4 year old) was looking for a base to explore Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Averse to large crowds and gimmicky tourist attractions, we found the Hawks View cabin to be a perfect spot for our needs. This cabin is nestled up in the mountains far enough outside of Gatlinburg that we didn't have to compete with crowds for road space or noise control. It's in a world of its own. The views were great, even before the leaves had fully unfurled (early April). The cabin itself suited us just fine. A few things could be improved upon, like including a drying rack for dishes, but we had everything we needed. It was sad to say goodbye but we'll look to come back.What did we do to avoid the large crowds and gimmicky tourist attractions? First, talk to a ranger at one of the Park's visitor centers. Then, find trails that have a trailhead away from the visitor centers. We did Alum Cave which was an absolute highlight of the trip. Would want to return to Kuwohi, and do more trails closer to the NC border. During a rainy day we drove Cade's Cove (touristy, but not gimmicky) and explored the Tuckaheechee Caverns. We let the kids "mine" for gems while we drank local brews at Red Jasper Beer Garden (the mining was a cute little activity for kids and about the closest thing we got to gimmicky). On a hot, sunny day we drove down Greenbrier toward Grapeyard and pulled off to splash around in the creek for a while. There's a TON of stuff to do.

Birthday Celebration

Quiet getaway from the hustle and bustle of Tampa, Florida. It was conveniently located near all the hikes we wanted to explore. The pool table and hot tub were perfect after a long hike! Thank you for sharing your cabin with us.

Great View, but Cabin Needs Upgraded

Great view at this cabin, but it's overall condition could be greatly improved by a few upgrades and small changes. Our first impression was noting the kitchen floor tile, where some are loose as well as missing pieces making a potential safety risk for injury on feet. Our second impression was the upstairs toilet, which had many discolored and blue streaks in it from potential inner leakage (it grossed me out quite a bit). Third, the large windows are gorgeous, but could use consistent cleaning, including management of spider webs. Overall cute place, but details need to be attended to for a fully satisfactory stay.

Happy 30th Anniversary to us!

We reserved the cabin due to the seclusion and privacy of the area. It provided exactly that! The cabin was perfect! We had a bit of trouble with the code to get in, called the owner and he answered immediately with an easy solution. The cabin was very clean inside! Highly recommend! Great property!

Spectacular mountain views

Our family of four enjoyed pur stay in this peaceful and cozy cabin! The views are amazing! The cabin was clean and had everything we needed. We even got to see a bear from the balcony. If you are looking for a place to get away and relax in nature, this is the place. We are so happy we stayed here instead of downtown Gatlinburg.instrad
