Wonderful time! Fit our group of 6 perfectly. The bunk room and pool table were such a hit for the kids and a visit from a mama bear and her cubs on the surrounding hill was the perfect cap to our trip. Thank you and looking forward to the next time.

After a 10 hour road trip, the host let us in 1 hour early and with 4 kids that’s HUGE! Then the house was absolutely amazing, 3 floors of wood, amazing master, awesome decks, push button fire placed used every morning with coffee, arcade games, hiking right off property, and close to two stores for snacks and drinks. I’m totally coming back, and renting THIS PLACE!Also saw 3 bears our last evening and it made it all magical. Thanks Rob and ErinTroy

Everything went great for our kids while they were there. It was their first trip as adults without any parents and they had no issues which made it very nice for us. They loved the cabin and the location was perfect for everything they wanted to do during their stay!

Pro: Location! Loved not being able to see other houses. Close to town. We saw bears within the first hour of being there. The bears tried to open our car door. My husband forgot to lock the house door and she opened it and stuck her head inside. Be careful! Easy check-in and check out. Bed on each level. Sofa bed was good. Cons: The air is slow to change. Arrived and it was set at 74. To get it down to 71 took all night (but finally got there). I wrote to ask if there was an issue with the air and she told me not to turn the heat on in the basement because it will make it warmer on the main level. Lol I wrote to tell her there wasn’t a chance we were turning the heat on but never received a response. It would have been nice for her to check back in. The beds- this one always gets me. Main level bed was pretty BAD. You could tell it was a cheap mattress. Go to Costco and get a descent one. The bed upstairs was super soft but better than main level. The sheets and linens were great. Just wish the beds were better quality. Overall we would stay here again. The active bear trail was for sure. We saw 7 bears and our grands loved that. If the beds were better, would have given 5 stars.

Family Hiking Experience

First, thanks to Rob and Erin for timely communication and quick responses to all my questions. Second, the property very accurately matches the description offered. Third, location was amazing for our journeys to central parts of GSMNP. Overall, an amazing weekend in which we were truly thankful to have a home away from home after some exhausting (but rewarding) hikes.

This house was absolutely perfect for our family during our stay. It was a great location to get to downtown Gatlinburg but also excellent to skirt around it to go to Pigeon Forge or into the national park. It was pristine, beautiful, and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Definitely be aware of locking car doors even when loading up! We enjoyed a very close brush with nature when a bear family came visiting and helped themselves to some snacks in our van while we were getting ready to travel home! All in all, you won’t regret staying at Rob and Erin’s cabin one bit!
