Home met all our needs. The home was well equipped with more than enough plates, utensils and kitchen wear. Some of the rooms were labeled incorrectly but overall more than enough space for our 40 guest.

Best Weekend at the Best Cabin

We have been coming to Gatlinburg for 8 years every year for a dance convention and every year we have tried to find the perfect cabin for us. This year we landed at The Big Willow Retreat and it was amazingly perfect! There was so much room- we lost people sometimes! haha The house is beautiful! The pictures do not do it justice! The kitchen was stocked so well there was never one thing we were looking for and we even found ways to use things we found there. haha We were a group of moms and daughters and there was so much space for kids to play and moms to hang out and not feel crowded! Plenty of bathrooms for getting ready! It’s definitely a fantastic group house- everything was WELL STOCKED! Our favorite was 3 coffee makers and a cabinet with a hundred coffee mugs in it! AMAZING!! We are already looking forward to booking again next year!!!

Great cabin for the whole family

This cabin is packed with fun for the family. The kids space was amazing and we had an early Thanksgiving dinner that accommodated our cooking and eating together. Be prepared to see many bears. This made the trip even more exciting and we could walk downtown to access restaurants and stores. It's a great location.

Awesome Cabin! Bears are No Joke!

We had a group of 18 golfers that stayed at the Big Willow Retreat in September 2024. Everyone absolutely loved the cabin! Plenty of bedrooms, bathrooms, large kitchen, dining area for all 18 of us. We did encounter black bears every day. They just walked past us on the sidewalks like we'd been neighbors for years. It was Wild!

Great Cabin for a large group

We had a group of over 30 there, and there was plenty of space. Everything was as listed, and the cabin was clean and even more spacious than it looks. It's a short walk to downtown, and Anakeesta. Highly recommend!

Family fun

This property was perfect for our 35-member extended family—from the bedrooms with king-sized beds to the kitchen/living area. The pool table needs some repair but the amenities were great and we saw a mother bear and her 4 cubs each day. Also, loved being able to walk down the hill into town (1/2 mile).

Great cabin in unreal location

We had a great stay in this cabin and it accomodated our whole golf group. The big windows in the living room allow for people on the porch to see into the Television and stay a part of what is going on inside. Kitchen well stocked, and plenty of beds. While we didn't spend too much time at the cabin, we would surely rent again!

Great retreat at a great place!

The property is laid out very well for groups. We had 30 and it was very comfortable. One neat thing about the house is a bedroom on the main level floor had a wheelchair /handicap accessible OPEN shower…I didn’t know it until arriving but the two women I put in there definitely benefited. Also kitchen very well stocked and this was a blessing be a we cooked frequently in the house! Everything was very nice. The location is so easy….

friends super bowl weekend

overall it met our needs with the amount of rooms / beds and ample seating for meals and just enjoying company. the only issues we had was the crisper drawer face in kitchen refrigerator was off the drawer and laying on a shelf in the fridge. and not all the fan remotes had batteries in them or even back covers to keep the batteries in the tv remotes were the same way but these issues were not at all and hindrance to our good time. the house was huge / clean and great location from town.

Beautiful but needs improvements

Our 2 nights stay was very good. Except for the beds. Matress on most of the room were old and had dead bugs on them and 2 guests complains about live baby roaches on the beds. For the price paid this is unacceptable. Kitchen pots needs to be changed. Beautiful view and the house was beautiful. A little dissapointing.

Team Retreat

This cabin was so great for our big team of 40 adults. We had plenty of sleeping space and the number of bathrooms was incredible. The only complaint we had was the comfort level of some of the beds. But, overall, the location, the amount of space and the cleanliness was excellent!!

50th Celebration

24 family members from Buffalo,NY - Las Vegas NV - New Orleans, LA and Waverly Tennessee gathered for a 50th Wedding Anniversary celebration - everyone was thrilled with the accomodations! It was exactly as it was shown on the website! We stayed at the Big Willow Retreat which was absolutely wonderful! The neighborhood Bear was a real treat! She was a little curious but basically did not bother with us. However, there were some issues....The internet and TV's did not work very well and several of us were hacked, the Network and password I was emailed were either incorrect or simply did not work, we used the one on the router which worked but very intermittenly- also several electric outlets in kitchen did not work and there were no oven mitts. Also a complete list of kitchen utensils and cookware would have been useful so that we would not have to brought our own stuff. Overall we did truly enjoy the lodge and all 24 of us would defintely return to Gatlinburg and rent the lodges. The weather was perfect and there was an endless amount of activites to do there!

FRIENDCATION

We had 8 families stay here (35 people) which was perfect, anymore prolly would've been a bit cramped. Loved the stay overall, rooms were clean, comfy and cozy. Even had a bear come right up to the porch and through the yard. Plenty of pillows and blankets!! Needed more towels available or a 2nd set of washer and dryers to keep up - between showers, hot tub, and pool-clean towels were like gold. Hot tub was a bit small for a house this size, a bigger tub or 2nd one wouldve helped, and it took an extra night covered to get it warm but it was clean. The trash outside was always full, we stored it in the laundry room til we seen the trash man to take it out. The Inside pool needed better ventilation it was very humid and heavily chlorinated, burned the eyes just to sit next to the pool, maybe a garage door addition to help during the humid hot season. Kitchen had most we needed, but would've been nice to have cleaning supplies, sponges, spray, etc. Need a new can opener or have a manual. Large fridge is still not working order but they did have 2 extra fridges there which were heavily used. Pool table needs new balls and pockets fixed but I reported them and they were pleased to add to the list to get fixed.. a marker board added to the fridge would be nice to share the codes with the cabin families. We loved the book past guest visits shared and wrote in!! Again overall we all loved this cabin and would stay again!!!
