“Although the accommodation was clean and comfortable, (the loo serving 3 rooms was tiny) the owner has rules which he outlines immediately eg shoes off, cars parked in a certain way, breakfast between 8 and 815. He also has particular views about society and politics which he is very ready to share, most of which we disagreed with. We found him to be too forthright and it generated some tensions. If you like politics, military history and conspiracy theories, this place is for you.”

“This accommodation is very remote. But really nice. The rooms are large and clean with nice en-suite facilities and the dining room - in an extended sun room - is spacious and comfortable. Very well run by a lovely couple we enjoyed our stay. Take dinner here - it’s very good value and enjoyable.”

“The accommodation is modernised throughout with quality furnishings, fittings and amenities. Mary greeted us at the door and is very welcoming and friendly. Excellent cooked breakfast and plenty of other choices for breakfast.”

“Our original room, The Robert Burns Siute, was dark, and faced the road with a view of the dumpsters. After complaining immediately to the manager, he booked us into room 2, Mary Queen of Scott’s, a beautiful room facing the loch with breath-taking views. Heated floors in the bathroom, a comfortable king bed and excellent service rounded out our experience. The loud 1970s music blaring during our adequate dinner was unpleasant though.”
