Hubby and I and our 20- and 18- year old kids stayed for a week at Shangri-La and it was perfect for us! Not a huge place, but laid out really well. Plenty of room for all of us to hang out on the comfy sofa in the living area. My daughter and son didn't mind sharing the 2nd bedroom -- they each had their own large, comfy bed.
The entire home is beautifully furnished and very clean. The air conditioning offered a great escape from the muggy outside air. We loved to watch the sunrise each morning from the screened porch overlooking the beach.
One of the best things about this place is the location. Just a few steps from the back door is your own gorgeous sandy beach! We rarely saw other people, just other guests in neighboring houses, but plenty of space between us. Just a 5-minute drive to the airport, grocery stores and Hooper's Bay, 10 minutes to downtown Georgetown, great restaurants within a 10-15 minute drive, 45 minutes to the Barraterre dock for an excursion to see pigs and sharks, and 30 minutes to Little Exuma.
Favorite restaurants/bars: Shirley's, Houseman on the Bay, Julian's Grill and Sharie's next door, Cocaplum Bistro, Da Beach Bar, Chat & Chill. Used the grill to cook hot dogs at home for dinner a couple of times. Disappointed that Driftwood cafe was closed our entire stay - menu looked great.
Best part about Exuma: the friendly locals! Everyone was so nice and helpful! Take a Chance car rental was great!
