This cabin is relatively small, but it has everything that is needed for a comfortable stay. It is tastefully decorated with fabulous landscape paintings by Sheron Scurlock’s mother, Pauline Thweatt (a.k.a. C.P. Montague), who originally used this structure as a studio. The north side of the cabin consists mainly of large windows that overlook a treed hillside above the San Gabriel River. We saw many different species of birds, and awoke to their singing each morning (sure beats traffic noise).
Sheron took us for a tour of the farm in a Gator ATV, and the baby goats, kids, were entertaining to watch, and it was interesting to see how the farm is being developed, while protecting most of the trees and other wildlife habitat. There is a well-equipped barbecue area, which we used to prepare some sockeye salmon for our dinner one evening, and there is a lovely area for outdoor dining, amongst the trees. Sheron and her husband, Dan, are outstanding hosts, and my only complaint is that Sheron’s home baked muffins are irresistible, especially when they are still warm, right out of the oven!
If you like Nature, Landscape Paintings, and Friendly Hosts, then I highly recommend the Palette Pad.
Sincerely
