Unfortunately our room wasn't available due to previous guests damaging the room. The staff at the Alexander Thomson were very helpful and booked us a room at a different hotel and took care of all the associated costs. I would have preferred to stay at the Alexander Thomson as it's very close to Central Station, shopping, and restaurants, but unforeseen circumstances caused us to stay elsewhere.

We were booked into the hotel but showed up to find that we had no room. We had to lug our luggage several blocks away to another hotel. This was the second occasion this occurred. Some advanced notice would have been appreciated.

There was a fire in my room, caused by the extractor fan. It was put out, but the fumes remained. Another room was found but not much of an apology even when I spoke to the manager the next morning a not even a Mars bar let alone a free night was offered as a gesture of good will. Didn't expect much but box of chocolates or a bottle wouldn't have gone amiss all things considered. The second room was not as nice as the original.

Un hotel muy viejo, con habitaciones amplias pero muy anticuadas, con puertas medio rotas y muy difícil de moverse buscando las habitaciones. Desayuno normalito. Lo bueno que sí tiene, es su ubicación. Enfrente hay una parada de los buses On Up On Off y está al lado de la estación de tren de Glasgow Central y de la calle peatonal Unión Street llena de tiendas y restaurantes. La estación de autobuses para ir a Edimburgo estaba a 20 minutos andando.

Hotel céntrico de Glasgow

La habitación amplia, cama cómoda y sábanas y toallas limpias. El desayuno muy bueno y variado. El hotel es céntrico, pero ruidoso por el tráfico y un bar que hay debajo. Hemos tenido la mala suerte de que estén demoliendo unos bloques justo enfrente.... Pero en general muy bueno. Lo recomiendo.

Buena ubicación, a unos pasos de la estación central. El desayuno es muy completo y el wi fi funcionó bien. Lo único malo fue la habitación que estaba a un lado del cuarto de calderas o lavandería y había ruido todo el tiempo, podrían dejar esa habitación como última opción porque llega a ser molesto.

Stayed in a more modern room with everything we needed. Breakfast was ok (a bit too much salt), and the front desk service was great! (Thanks Luke). Secure luggage storage option was also a very nice to have while we explored the area

They overbooked so they switch the location of our reservation. We didn't get to stay at the Alexander Thompson hotel. They didn't contact us before hand. They told us when we arrived. We had lots of luggage and had to carry it all several blocks on foot to another hotel.

Tired hotel!

The hotel itself is very central. The parking is 10mins away and was quite tricky to find but we got it half price which was good. £11 instead of £22 for 24hours. The hotel needs a complete refurbishment as it’s very dated which makes it feel dirty. The bed was very comfortable and we had a huge room with views of the streets. It was a good hotel but I wouldn’t return as there are other modern hotels all around this one and the same price.

Etwas in die Jahre gekommenes aber dadurch irgendwie auch charmantes Hotel mitten in Glasgow. Super zentral und verkehrsgünstig gelegen. Das Zimmer war riesig und gut ausgestattet und sauber, das Bad neu und modern. Ein Kritikpunkt: nicht sehr gut schließende alte Fenster; dadurch etwas zugig und laut. Die sehr laute Musik der Bar im Erdgeschoss war nicht zu überhören.

In need of a refurbishment Dirty windows that wouldn’t close Noisy fan outside window Dark room, upgrade on lights needed. Limited breakfast choice. Staff not very helpful. On the plus side, large room, powerful shower with hot water. Clean towels and bedding. Chose this hotel because it is near to Rail Station, but would not stay there again.

The staff was incredibly friendly, the room spacious. Breakfast was a decent buffet style meal that was good. However there was no air conditioning and the window was open outside for ventilation. The hallway was incredibly noisy, with kids knocking on doors late at night.

One night in Alexander Thompson hotel

First impression check in area could do with brightening up,receptionist quite pleasant and helpful ,room you get what you pay for but clean and nice walk in shower ,bed comfortable and not a bad breakfast if happy having building workers coming over for their break .2 pointers for hotel .com people should be informed hotel is being used to house refugees or homeless,and building work is going on immediately opposite, pneumatic drills and banging from8am till 5pm ,didnt bother us but would imagine it could afew people,only stayed one night would imagine be unhappy if a few days stay

Sehr gutes Preis-Leistungsverhältnis.

Hotel ist gut im Zentrum gelegen. Kurze Gehdistanz zum Bahnhof/Zentrum. Zimmer schön renoviert. Aber die Fensterabdichtung ist nicht ganz dicht, darum auch Lärm von der Strasse im Zimmer. Insgesamt ein sehr gutes Preis-Leistungsverhältnis.
