This is, without question, the nicest home I have ever rented. The setting is absolutely stunning—nestled right at the base of Rocky Mountain National Park, just a 7-minute drive to the charming town of Grand Lake and about 20–30 minutes from Winter Park. This visit was during the winter season, and we were able to take full advantage of everything the area offers—snowy beauty, outdoor activities, and peaceful mountain surroundings. I already can't wait to return in the summer to experience the area in an entirely different way.
The house itself was exceptional. The décor struck the perfect balance between luxury and western mountain style, with so many thoughtful touches throughout. It's clear the owners put real care into anticipating what guests might need to feel comfortable and at home. I've stayed in many rentals, but I've never experienced a kitchen as well stocked as the one at Shadow Shores Chalet. Unlike most places that provide only the basics, this home truly has everything—high-quality cookware, utensils, dishes, spices, and more. It honestly felt like being in my own home.
I would highly recommend this property to anyone considering a trip to this part of Colorado. The location is fantastic, and the home itself elevated the entire experience and made the trip truly memorable.
