6/10
Spacious and smartly presented inside, but in need of some TLC outside, the VRBO description overstates the appeal of the "historic villa".
"As soon as you step through the doors, you'll be greeted by a majestic entrance hall of 30m2," but the main door is not used - you are told to use the side door which opens straight into the kitchen so the first thing you see (and walk into) is the kitchen counter where the hob is.
The upstairs bedrooms are very spacious as descibed but the downstairs rooms far less so - one doesn't have a queen bed as stated, it has two single beds pushed together. The fourth room has children's beds as described so is not suitable for an adult to stay in.
We had problems with the water - it never got hotter than luke warm - which was very disappointing for a property that claims "every detail has been carefully considered to offer an unforgettable stay."
The manager did send an someone to look at the water - the first time without checking whether we were in the property and without a key so they had to come back the next day. On the second visit they attended for five minutes and claimed the water would be hot - it did improve but it was not what you would describe as hot.
The manager said that nobody else has had this problem so maybe we were unlucky.
The outside area by the barbecue is messy with weeds, litter, old toys, and broken stones. The outside bin was half-full of empty bottles.
Overall it was fine, but not "unforgettable".
