The location of this rental is great. Private beach, nearby restaurants, tons of space. We did, however, have a lot of issues with the condo itself. The entire time we were there the wifi didn't work, and I had to do some remote work in the small lobby. The stovetop also didn't work so we couldn't heat things up or make coffee, and the water stopped working several times over the week. There was an awful and very pungent sewage smell that emanated from all the drains, especially the bathrooms. On the last day I found a fresh-looking bloodstain on my bedcover that wasn't mine when we were stripping the beds. We contacted the host about some of these issues and she responded but seemed unmotivated to address the problems. We had to continually check in to let her know the wifi wasn't working, and eventually we just gave up and stopped contacting her because it clearly wasn't getting fixed, along with some of the other issues.Less concerning but also worth mentioning are that there wasn't enough toilet paper and we had to buy our own. There was a ton of decorative clutter, so much so that I didn't have space to put any of my things once we arrived. We only had 6 people staying here, so I imagine with 10 it would be a mess. I didn't expect total luxury, and am okay with bugs, rust and other things you would expect by the beach, but this was beyond the normal wear and tear, and products of nature.

Da wir selbst auch Vermieter auf Ihrer Plattform sind stellen wir uns die Frage ob eine Plattform die es zuläßt das Eigentümer oder Hosts so mit Ihren Gästen umgeht statt sie vom Dienst auszuschließen der richtige Partner ist.Hier nun der Ablauf der letzten Woche der unseren „Urlaub“ erfolgreich zerstört hat.Bitte schauen Sie sich den Schriftverkehr auf Ihrer Plattform zwischen uns und Ihrer Kundin Sophia Grullon (Martha) an um den wahren Ablauf verstehen zu können und mit welchen Mitteln und Lügen die Eignerin Sophia Grullon versucht hat uns dazu zu bewegen die Reise in der letzten Woche vor dem check in von unserer Seite aus zu stornieren. Wir haben das jedoch nicht getan und haben noch 5 Stunden vor unserem Abflug persönlich mit der Eigentümerin telefoniert und die letzten Einzelheiten für unsere Ankunft besprochen. Kein Hinweis auf eine Stornierung, alles schien in Ordnung. Mitten in der Nacht um 23:45 sind wir in der Unterkunft angekommen und haben am Empfang stehend mehrfach versucht die Eigentümerin zu erreichen, da Sie uns noch immer nicht den zugesagten Türcode mitgeteilt hatte. Dies war nicht möglich. Daraufhin hat das Empfangspersonal versucht Frau Grullon zu erreichen und hatte Sie sofort am Telefon. Direkt nach diesem Kontakt bekamen wir, mitt

This property was like a Monet painting— it looked good from afar but once you were inside, you saw the cracks. From dirty walls, to a jacuzzi we couldn’t even get inside because it was so dirty even after the cleaning lady had supposedly cleaned. The toilets would only occasionally flush, there were cockroaches every night, the Air conditioning didn’t work for the first couple of days, the WiFi would only connect in the living room, and the washing machine leaked as soon as we put clothes to wash. We reached out to the host about the washing machine and WiFi and she made it seem like we were stupid and didn’t know how to use a washing machine or how to connect to WiFi. Towels and bed sheets were stained even AFTER the apartment had supposedly been cleaned. We spent a considerable amount of money on this property and would expect it to be up to par. The only good thing about this property is that the reception staff was attentive. I shared my negative thoughts with our host days ago as soon as we checked out and she has yet to respond. She did tell me not to leave a negative review since it would be damaging and then conveniently deleted that message off WhatsApp after I shared my thoughts. Not even in the United States would we have been charged as much to stay at the beach for 5 days. Sharing a few photos below but we have many more photos and videos should someone want to reach out. Long story short — save your money and book a better place for less money.

It could be so much better!

The location is beautiful but this penthouse has seen better days. Upon arrival the cleaning crew was still in the apartment and had to come back to bring toilet paper. As soon as I tried to settle down I notice the really poor conditions of the appliances, both the oven and the stove have patches of rust that should be replaced or fixed . The refrigerator was not cooling at all, when I called the property manager she asked me to go to the breaker box and reset it. After I did that the fridge started working and it felt cooler in the inside probably 2 hours later, which I was concerned because I had stuff that needed to be refrigerated. The jacuzzi was not cleaned properly, when we arrived it was being filled but you can see the sand and scum around it. The staff forgot to close the hose used to fill it, so the property manager called me to close it which I did but I guess it had another water source because it was overflowing overnight which a person came to close it the very next day. The water pressure is poor. To make it worst I don't know if the water source is filtered straight from the ocean, it was very salty, which explain why all the water fixtures have calcification around them which makes them look even dangerous. The deck is beautiful and well furnished but it felt dangerous to walk going up to the jacuzzi because it has boards that are lose. I rented this place for 2 night and ended up staying just one. To the owner, please invest to make your property better.

Another spectacular week!

This was our 11 year staying at Marbella, and our second year in this unit. The unit is absolutely beautiful, and the views are amazing. Martha is wonderful to work with. She is very attentive. Whenever I had a question, she answered promptly. She is a pleasure to work with.

The location is easy to find and the views of the ocean are fantastic. If we had any issues the property manager would handle them promptly. Like getting additional drinking water and getting the hot water heater turned on. The property was very clean and we loved the ocean and swimming in the ocean. The views of the sunset are marvelous.

Not the condo in the photo

In the listing the photo shows a white jacuzzi in a different location than the broken blue jacuzzi in my unit. The host was notified about the defective jacuzzi said someone would be out, yet no-one ever came. Starting at 8:30am-3:30pm Mon and which went on daily thru Wed workers at the pool were using power tools on the deck below our unit. They were cutting thick deck tiles. In the penthouse you could not hear yourself think. Sleeping late, forget it...so much for peace and quiet. It was SO noisy we ended up leaving the location 2 days early. The smell from the Sargassum seaweed is nauseating. To get to the water you need to walk through over a meter of Sargassum. The kitchen appliances were covered with grease and gross. The area Juan Dolio is very desolate, with very, very few places for dinner, and even fewer for breakfast. Car from SDQ to Juan Dolio was about $100 US Not even close to what we expected.

Great stay

Although there was some issues during the stay, Martha was a great host and kept in constant contact with us. Some of the issues couldn’t be resolved but honestly it didn’t make the experience bad nor the apartment beautiful. I would definitely rent again especially if Martha is the property manager as she was great to speak and deal with.

What a nightmare - not enough room to tell all

Booked the property in November for a 12 night stay with the family. The headaches started almost immediately. We needed to adjust the dates twice because Martha was double booked. Once we got that sorted out(or so we thought) we booked our flight’s and were all set……then we get the word she had double booked again. We made arrangements that we would go with the new dates and would get free transportation to and from the airport and 2 nights free for the inconvenience. Well 2 days before we are set to go I get a message that they need to cancel our reservation because the people there contracted covid and they couldn’t leave. I suspect they were double booked again. Our flights were not refundable at this late stage. Martha looked for a similar property that she could put us into and proceeded to send us pictures of another penthouse in the building next door. The pictures looked great and we agreed to take it. On our arrival the condo was a disaster. It was dirty, the hot tub didn’t work the furniture was not the same, the floors were heaved and broken so badly that you couldn’t walk without shoes. No dishwasher, no water included, no safe, no toaster, hot tub needed to be drained 3 times a day as the water supply could not be turned off, no dish cloth or towels, drains in 2 showers wouldn’t drain so they overflowed and so on. They tried fixing the hot tub by replacing the pump but when it was turned on it filled the water with deposits from the lines making it useless

Another spectacular week at Marbella!

This was our 12th year staying at Marbella, and it was the best stay we have had. The unit was well equipped and beautifully decorated. There are no words to describe the incredible views. Amazing Stay At Marbella

The views alone are worth every cent when booking this property. Celebrated my mothers 65th birthday, and overall, it couldn’t have gone any better. The Marbella staff and Sami the property manager we’re all extremely welcoming and attentive. Would most certainly stay here again!
