Power was out when we arrived (there'd been a bad storm the night before). We had to drive back to town to get reception in order to call & see what to do. The nice lady who answered the phone (I'm sorry I forgot her name) was extremely helpful & understanding. The power ended up coming back on an hour or two later & there were no further big problems, but we really appreciated the responsiveness.The space was really nice & cozy, the yard & setting are gorgeous, & the hot tub & fire were delightful on the cold nights.One warning - don't leave any food out! We were surprised to find ants swarming our cake a little while after we'd unpacked. But we wiped them up with a soapy sponge & didn't see more than one or two scouting around after that. We had to be diligent about putting everything away or in sealed containers but it wasn't a big deal. There was some Raid under the sink but we left it alone, since spraying poison in the kitchen seemed worse than just not leaving food on the counter.One thing I would change, would be to provide better mats to wipe your shoes on when you come inside. Since it was rainy out, we were tracking in mud & leaves no matter how much we wiped our shoes on the welcome mat, we ended up sacrificing one of our towels to use as an entry rug. Similarly, something to wipe your feet on between the outdoor shower and the hot tub would keep leaves out of there as well. Overall we had a great time, would visit again.

We enjoyed our stay at Villa Mimosa mostly for the location and for the yard and deck. The house was nicely situated, however, it needed a GOOD cleaning. Bedding had spots, bottom sheets were not fitted so they were always a mess. The kitchen sink facet was broken,refrigerator handle on left side is broken, lights constantly flickering, and major dust behind furniture. Dining table needed a tablecloth so you didn't have to look at all the scratches and stains.Overall, a good cleaning, updated sheets, some nice dish towels and a tablecloth would have made a big difference.We enjoyed walking to the beach and walking with our dog around the neighborhood. Neighbors were nice and friendly. With as much as we paid for our stay, I expected a cleaner cabin and better supplies.We would stay again only if we knew that the cabin had had a GOOD cleaning in between guests. The cabin needs a lot of TLC.

Fun!

Upside: Convenient location, super close walk to river access, roomy hot tub, BEAUTIFUL scenery, great weather and backyard very peaceful! Downside: Not ada friendly (stairs to everything), lacking cleaning supplies (scrubber for dishes?), and avoid the recliner as it's broken. As much as people wrote in the guestbook "lots of insects" we did not have any issues, however it is possible that it is slightly haunted. We had a great time, and would recommend.

Peaceful Winter Weekend

We stayed for 3 nights in February. Nice cozy home for our family of 4 and 2 dogs. We appreciated the large yard for the dogs. The hot tub was great for a dip at night. The neighborhood was great for mornings walks with the dogs. There's a new playground very close which would be great for little kids.

Great Home Base

This was a great home base for enjoying the Russian River and attending the Caz Performing Arts Family camp for a few days. The property management was responsive and welcoming. I really enjoyed hot tubbing amidst the trees.

Wonderful stay

The house is clean and cosy and the yard is lovely to hang out in. Super kid friendly. Beach and river access an easy walk. Downtown Guerneville a five minute drive away with lots of options to eat. Neighborhood is quiet (some construction noise on weekdays but we weren’t bothered. Hot tub was a wonderful way to end the day.

Russian River rental

Lovely and spacious house with a large secluded yard and close to the river. Owners responsive with any issues. Neighborhood a bit noisy with someone driving a very loud motorbike up and down the street at all hours and lots of nearby construction noises.

Really wonderful place

We had a great time! It was comfortable and well appointed. There was no mold smell, as mentioned in a previous review. The property as described and everything worked well. The beds were sooooo comfortable. We had a some climate control issues, and some issues with ants and the property manager was very responsive and addressed our concerns right away. The yard was lovely. I would absolutely stay here again!

Not a good experience

The house has a very old-musty smell that was bad enough I left 2 days early and rented a nice hotel. The first 2 dishes I used had food on them so I washed everything before using it. The furniture is cheap and hard. The best part is a very nice yard. I have rented several properties over the years and counted on premier host ratings. I will now look for how many ratings to be sure what I'm getting. I didn't report the problem until I left and the only response was that I should have called before leaving. Mold/Mildew smells can't be fixed in a day and I was worried it was unhealthy.

We got much needed rain most of the week

The house is beautiful inside and outside options are to sit in the backyard or the patio on the upper level. Nature needed the weather we had but it limited our outdoor activities considerably. Foosball and hot tub were often used and home is where good WiFi is ;-) In fact the WiFi is excellent with download speeds >150 Mb/sec you can do Zoom meetings, watch TV-Shows and browse the Internet all at the same time. A main reason to select Villa Mimosa was the dog-friendly setup. Many dogs will walk by the property but the backyard is fully fenced and if you have a dog, this is really great. In terms of eating out, we had breakfast at the Northwood Gold club restaurant, excellent! Not good for an early breakfast though, check their opening hours! In Guerneville, the restaurant "Brot" was a huge disappointment in terms of food! Not authentic German, overpriced, tiny portions. If you want to go there for a German beer, you might have better luck than going there for German food. The Russian River is about 5 minutes walk away but it was waayy too cold to go in. Overall a relaxing week with outdoor activities limited by frequent rain showers and temperature 20F below average for the time of year (mid-April)

Nice place to Unwind

We had a great time at this place. It was very clean, and the yard was completely fenced as advertised. We enjoyed the BBQ and had a couple of nice evenings sitting on the deck enjoying the solitude as the sunset
