What a bummer this trip was. We stayed in this unit last year and loved it so much we decided to book it again this year. When we arrived, we noticed the steps up to the house had very slick moss growing on them and my friend tripped bringing her stuff up the stairs to the house. Once we opened the house we were hit immediately with a musty, moldy smell. It seemed the house hadn’t been aired out or cleaned in months. So we opened some screened windows to get some air moving, and sat down to start catching up. Before we knew it we were swatting at gnats. They were everywhere. We had to keep covers on our wine glasses to keep them out and we spent an evening swatting at them and trying to keep them out of our food. When we went to bed, the beds smelled of musty mold. Dust on everything. The toilet doesn’t function properly. There was little to no soap in the body soap container in the shower. When we woke up in the morning and went into the kitchen, there were gnats all over our food, they were everywhere. I reached out to VRBO and the messaging function connects you to a BOT. The bot suggested spraying chemicals to get rid of them…we were not going to go to the store and spend our vacation time doing pest control at a rental. We put all of our food into the fridge and left for the day. Came back to gnats everywhere. Someone from the “local team” at VRBO had called me and left a message saying he couldn’t get out until today-our check out day. Very dissatisfied with this place
