Cancelled upon arrival as damp and dirty!Vrbo cancelled and refunded our stay as they agreed photos showed the property to not be in an acceptable state. Exorbitant last minute deposit requested external to Vrbo - do not pay! I was told this was preauthorisation only in case of damage but was taken despite us not staying. Vrbo have confirmed this is against policy and would refund if they could, but they can’t so taking up with credit card provider. Property damp and dirty throughout and has not been cleaned, let alone decorated for some considerable time. The Host is aware of this as there were 2 air fresheners in the living room, one of which was an empty plug in, which is a fire hazard. Highly unprofessional host as insisted was clean, then blamed us for making it dirty despite us being there for a short time before deciding it was too dirty to clean and make do. Thick spider webs inside and out of dirty windows. Rusty storage heaters. Dirty fridge (photo is after my husband started to clean it then gave up!) and hob with black washing up sponge. Damp inside cupboards with trim peeling off. Broken pedal bin with sharp metal sticking out and she was aware we have a toddler so this is unsafe. Filthy floors (feet black after 10 minutes) and bathrooms covered in limescale and a matt finish on porcelain so clearly not clean. Dirty toilet! Hairs on floor from previous guests. Holes in curtains and poor standard of bedding, although that at least was clean.

Het was eerlijk gezegd een tegenvaller.Het huis was behoorlijk gedateerd. Maar dat vinden we zo erg niet. Dat het huis niet proper was, vonden we veel erger. Er lag vuil in de besteklade, de microgolfoven was aan de binnenkant vuil. Er waren veel spinnenwebben. In de hoeken en aan de ramen lag overal nog vuil. Er was schimmel in de douche. Het plafond was ingevallen (gyproc). De koelkast had een vieze geur. De koelkast had bovendien veel roestvlekken. De kasten gingen niet open en toe. De tafel en de stoelen buiten zijn roest wat niet aangenaam is wanneer je iets wit draagt. De vuilbak was plakkerig en versleten. Het water van de douche liep niet weg. De keukenstoelen waren vies en versleten. Er stond een barbecue die nog volledig vuil was van een vorige gebruiker en die helemaal aangekoekt was...Vervolgens was er een zwembad (reden waarom we het huisje gekozen hadden). Maar het was helemaal groen. De eigenaars hebben het dan gekuist maar een paar dagen voor ons vertrek was het pas terug gevuld en dus heel koud. Het gevolg was dat de dochters niet konden zwemmen.Verder wens ik toch mee te geven dat de eigenares heel vriendelijk was. De eigenaar daarentegen was een norse onvriendelijke man. De hoge score op de website is echt onbegrijpelijk.

Fantastic fortnight at Les Pâtis!

4 of us stayed in Les Chenes gite, which is a 2 bed cottage with its own huge area of garden, outside pergola, and a gentle stream bubbling nearby. Surrounded by trees and grass and birds chirping in the trees, colourful dragonflies and butterflies this was an absolute Eden of peace and calm. We LOVED this place and Dorothee and her husband Gwen were very friendly attentive and just decent lovely people! The clean pool and jacuzzi is actually warm. And the grounds so so pretty too. Plus the town of Vimoutiers with a good size Aldi and Carrefour was literally 4 mins drive away. 10/10 I can’t rate it highly enough.

Relaxing getaway

Amazing property- great welcome, clean spacious property within lovely surroundings! Our granddaughter loved the heated swimming pool and hot tub ( as did we)! Dorothee and staff were very friendly and helpful! Will return!

Fantastic stay

Wonderful location to explore from, brilliant facilities - we spent hours playing tennis, swimming in the pool and taking the bikes out, fantastic hosts with a lovely dog too! Thank you!

Summer in Normandy

We had a lovely summer break staying at Les Patis. We are a family of 4 with teenage girls and it was the perfect mix of time spent in the pool and day trips to Paris and Normandy. The property was super clean and had everything you need - a real home from home. It was great to meet Tony and family and Jessie the dog. I thoroughly recommend for a family holiday or a peaceful break.

Tolles Anwesen idyllisch gelegen

Uns hat es sehr gut in Guerquesalles gefallen. Pool, Whirlpool, Tennis & Tischtennis & der Teich bieten Abwechslung auf dem Gelände selbst. Das Cottage ist sehr hübsch eingerichtet. Da es bei uns recht regnerisch & kühl war, haben wir einen Klapptisch mit Klappstühlen in der Küche genutzt. Vielen Dank, Tony!

Great week at Guerquesalles

This is a lovely cottage on a great site outside of Vimoutiers in Normandy. The cottage was charming and had all the elements we required. As we visited at the end of the season, the site was quiet and we were able to take advantage of the swimming pool & hot-tub. We would recommend Guerquesalles.

Beautiful property

We really loved the entire property and really felt calm being there. The hosts are very friendly and accessable. We loved the green scenery, which was well maintained. The pool and jaccuzi were the cherry on the cake! The direct neighbourhood is not touristic at all (read; we really had to search hard in several villages for a place to get an ice-cream with the kids..). If you want to go on daytrips, just accept a bit more time spent in the car.

Excellent séjour

Nous avons passé un excellent séjour au cottage (couple avec un bébé de 6 mois). Le lieu est calme, verdoyant et bien entretenu. La piscine est parfaite et suffisamment grande pour être partagée avec les occupants des 4 autres gîtes. Les hôtes sont attentifs à notre bien être à la tranquilité des lieux. Nous y reviendrons avec plaisir.

Prachtig huis, zeer vriendelijke eigenaren, heerlijk terrein en zwembad

Heerlijk en rustig. Niet erg veel te doen in de buurt maar met mooi weer heb je niet veel nodig. Een heerlijk en schoon zwembad. fijn huis met een zeer uitgebreide keuken, bbq en fijne bedden. Zelfs 2 badkamers. We hebben er een heerlijke week gehad met prachtig weer. Ze houden goed rekening met alle maatregelen. Dank Tony en Pat

Guerquesalles 2020

Très beau séjour dans un endroit magnifique. Parfait pour des vacances reposantes au coeur de la nature ! Il manquait peut-être un peu d'équipement pour la cuisine (il n'y avait que 2 bols par exemple).

A wonderful place for a family holiday!

We stayed in The Chênes for a week, and enjoyed our stay very much. The grounds are very well kept, with large grass areas for the children to run around and play. Most of the time our kids (aged 7 and 6) spent in the pool or rowing with us in the pond. The pool is large enough for swimming and there are life jackets to borrow when using the boat. Tony and Pat made us feel most welcome and could give us good advice for outings in the local area. The cottage is well equipped, and the WIFI worked well. We especially appreciated the small details, for instance a portable rack for hanging clothes, which we could use for dry bathing suits at the back of our cottage. We’d love to come back!

Fantastic week at Les Patis!

Super schönes Ferienhaus in toller Atmosphäre

wir haben bei Tony und Pat eine wundervolle Zeit verbracht. Das Haus ist stilvoll ausgestattet mit viel Charme und Liebe zum Detail. Der Swimmingpool war grossartig und das Wasser angenehm warm (Mai). Die Cottages sind über einen n parkähnliches Gelände verteilt, das Raum für Privatsphäre lässt. Die Kids haben es geliebt im Garten und am Wasser zu spielen.

Fabulous setting with everything you would want

The property itself was fantastic, it had a nice rustic feel to it and was surrounded by a woodland setting. The barbecue area was to the corner of the property with a large seating area (very private). The pool was very big and the jacuzzi easy to use. Inside the property the bedrooms were very comfortable and the living room space was large. All facilities were in good shape and the English TV a plus for the evenings! The host was lovely and the tour of the property area very explanatory. I have to say that it was very well situated to the local village and sights. Do not forget to visit the local museum "Memorial de Montormel"; small, but one of the best for information on the battle that turned the tide of World War 2. We would absolutely return to this property.
