Comfortable stay

Hotel Greven is a smaller hotel to the east of Hamburg center. The hotel is comfy and reasonably priced. A nice stiff mattress and a good size shower room. The hotel feels a bit detached, although it's actually only about 10 minutes from Burgstrasse underground station, but the immediate area doesn't have much more than a few shops. Hamburg city center is about another 10 minutes on the train. Greven is a good bet for someone travelling on a mid sized budget who doesn't need luxury.

The hotel was better than I had expected based on reading previous reviews. I was pleasantly surprised. The WiFi was good and there was no issues with temperatures as it was 20 degrees outside. It was nice to have the fridge in the room. The one complaint that I would have is that the desk and chair height were not really compatible until I got a cushion to sit on. Other than that everything was fine and the value was great. The staff were friendly too.

Klein aber fein!!! Jederzeit wieder!!!

Da ich des Öfteren in Hamburg beruflich unterwegs bin,und eigentlich da nur zum schlafen,ich keine großen Ansprüche stelle,habe ich leider schon einiges an "Katastrophen" kennengelernt. Das Hotel Greven, hatte mich anfänglich von außen erstmal abgeschreckt,da es auf den ersten Blick nicht direkt einladend wirkt. Allerdings checkte ich ein,und vom ersten Moment an,war ich sehr positiv überrascht. Von den freundlichen Mitarbeitern, von den sauberen Zimmern, und auch das renoviert wurde, könnte man noch riechen ;))......! Obwohl das Frühstück erst ab 07:00Uhr angeboten wird, konnte ich auf Nachfrage auch schon früher hin und es war lecker, vollkommen ausreichend und es hat mir an nichts gefehlt. Selbst das kostenfreie W-LAN, war absolut top!!Nach dieser guten Erfahrung in diesem Hotel, habe ich direkt meinen nächsten Aufenthalt im November neu gebucht. Somit kann ich das Hotel, trotz des ersten Eindruckes von außen nur weiter empfehlen!!!

AVOID! I won't be back, and I wouldn't wish my worst enemy to stay here. I've only given it 1 star because you can't go any lower, but I feel the housekeeping seem to have done a good job given the conditions. Took over 30 minutes to check in as the person at reception didn't know how to look for an Expedia booking and the person who did was away watching football. Had booked a double room but was given a single, they changed it to a double which stank of stale cigarette smoke with various broken fittings. Then there was no hot water so I left the shower running to see if any came through but it flooded the bathroom as the shower drain was blocked so it overflowed. The basin drain was also blocked. After reporting it there was hot water in the morning but it would have been nice to have a shower before bed. I slept ok despite the pillow being very uncomfortable (akin to sleeping on a sack of potatoes). Unless you like being miserable, stay elsewhere.

Hotel alejado pero correcto.

La habitación me pareció correcta, la atención por parte del personal. No disponen ni facilitan productos sin gluten como otros alojamientos. A pesar de todo desayuno variado. Guardan la maleta durante la tarde.

Die Lage und der Ausblick (aus dem Fenster direkt auf Wasser eines Kanals) sind gut. Zimmer von der Ausstattung her okay. Lässt sich mal 1-2 Nächte aushalten. Insgesamt war die Lage aber nicht die Schönste Ecke Hamburgs. An den Straßen, Geschäften und Leuten erkennbar. Das Hotel ist ein Flachbau, in der wir eine Etage tiefer hausten, was es angenehm kühl machte bei dem warmen Wetter. Wenn die Toilette aber schwarze Ränder aufweist und unter dem Bett ein Wattestäbchen liegt - Wenn die Duschvorrichtung fast abfällt (in unserem Zimmer) und nur behilfsweise mit Klebeband halbwegs fest gemacht wurde und wenn der Duschgelspender laufend abfällt, dann kann man den Zustand nicht gut heißen. Das Schlimmste war, wie 3 Uhr nachts ein fremdsprachiges Pärrchen vor unserer Tür versuchte aufzuschließen, sich also Augenscheinlich im Zimmer irrte und man dadurch erstmal erschrocken wach wird. (Gut, dafür kann vlt der Service nichts, doch es spricht für die Lage oder mehr gegen eben jene).

Der Chef war sehr freundlich. Die Unterkunft hatze kein Schnick Schnack aber es war okay. Leider habe ich am letzten Tag eine Bettwanze auf meiner Decke entdeckt und es war keiner da den man ansprechen konnte. Trotzdem würde ich wenn das Problem mit den Wanzen behoben wäre wieder hin.

It is clean, but they wrongfully put King Bed in the AD, where there is no King Bed in any rooms when I checked in. The manager is not available 24 hours daily. When I checked in at 3pm, I had to call and waited 15 mins before the manager was showed up. There was no coffee available in the room. There was no cleaning service during our 3-days stay.

Das Personal am Empfang war super freundlich. Die Wände bräuchten einen neuen Anstrich, die Halterung vom Duschkopf ist bei leichter Berührung runter gefallen. Das Badezimmer konnte nicht verschlossen werden, da der Drehknopf kaputt is. Einfach als Übernachtung OK.

The room was ok, but the heater wasn't working. Reception closed by the time I got back to the room, and I had to spend the night in the chilly cold room. Also, the refrigerator was switched off, which led to melting ice covering the floor in the morning!

Leider sehr abgewohnt und bei der Sauberkeit sehr viel Platz nach oben. Dafür aber ein sehr gutes Bett vom Liegekomfort. Preis wirklich ok für Hamburg nur leider die Sauberkeit. Das Frühstück war für den Preis in Ordnung.
