Carrot Top Cottage surrounded by National Park

  • Tucked in middle of Harpers Ferry National Historical Park, Carrot Top Cottage is just steps off the Appalachian Trail and a short walk to the world-renowned attractions of Harpers Ferry.

    Enjoy the history and natural beauty of Harpers Ferry from your own well-appointed private cottage with all the comforts of home. Play in the spacious backyard, relax around the firepit, or read a book on the wrap-around porch that looks out over the grounds of the National Park headquarters.

    The Cottage is designed to sleep up to 4 adults with the king bed and full-size bed. The futon in the loft is great for kids but we don't recommend it for an adult.

The cottage is perfect. It feels like you are stepping into someone’s immaculately decorated guest house for the weekend. It is within walking distance to everything in Harper’s Ferry but if you wanted to skip it all this would be the house to do nothing in. A beautiful front porch, woods and a meadow to look at with deer and groundhogs making daily appearances. Or if you wanted to hike the AT, it’s less than 100 yards away. The Carrot Top Cottage was a dream spot for our family of 5 and our kids were so bummed to go home.

Exceptional in all ways! Charming cottage in a perfect location. This was the cleanest place we have ever rented and the service to reserve and communicate was excellent.

Such a cute and comfortable home! Our family of 5 stayed for along weekend. We absolutely loved the multiple comfy locations on the deck to relax - there was always a breeze and plenty of shade. The home had modern appliances, bathroom etc but a rustic chic that we enjoyed. There’s a quaint coffee shop nearby when we chose not to brew at the house, and we were walking distance to town (we enjoyed the hill down and back up, which was a good workout a few times a day). The 2 beds were very comfortable. We did choose to have 1 kid sleep on an air mattress and another on the couch downstairs, as the futon upstairs is quite hard. I was very impressed with how well-appointed the home was - cozy blankets spread around, skewers available for roasting marshmallows over the fire pit - and even a med kit for emergencies! Thank you for the lovely stay!

A charming spot

Carrot Top Cottage was everything it advertised. The decor was lovely, the bed was very comfy/cozy and the location was perfect.

Anniversary Get Away

Our stay at the Carrot Top was great. It was clean, beautifully decorated and wonderfully cool in the 90 degrees days we were there. The owners are very communicative and accommodating. Would love to go back again!

Cozy, Convenient and Charming

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The home was full of amenities and super clean. We were able to park our car at the cottage and walk to the Appalachian Trail, and on down to the town. We would definitely stay here again.

As soon as we entered the Carrot Top Cottage, we felt completely at home. The cottage is a perfect mix of cozy charm and modern convenience. We enjoyed cooking several meals in the well-stocked kitchen, relaxed each night with wine on the porch, and also in the comfy living room. Walking distance to downtown area and Appalachian Trail. We would definitely stay again!
