Macaulay Cottage, Grosebay, Isla de Harris

Macaulay Cottage es una casa tradicional de 4 dormitorios construida en piedra ubicada en los hermosos alrededores de Golden Road en el pueblo de Grosebay.
Casa de 2 plantas totalmente amueblada con capacidad para 7 personas. La planta baja cuenta con comedor, sala de estar, cocina, una habitación doble, una habitación individual y baño con ducha. Planta superior cuenta con 2 habitaciones dobles y baño con ducha.
Los perros son bienvenidos en la cabaña de Macaulay.
A solo 2 minutos del mar donde se pueden ver nutrias y focas jugando. Los entusiastas de la vida silvestre pueden estar interesados en avistamientos de águilas en el área. Base ideal para senderismo, pesca, golf o simplemente unas vacaciones tranquilas y relajantes. A 20 minutos en coche de las famosas playas de arena de Harris. Las atracciones locales incluyen Harris Tweed, destilería, galerías de arte y viajes a St Kilda.

Lovely spot

Very nice and comfy house with all amenities. In lovely situation quiet but still handy for great beaches and Tarbet. Also very dog friendly.

What a wonderful cottage to stay in on the Isle of Harris. The host could not be more helpful and made us feel so welcome. The cottage is ideally situated to explore the whole of Harris.

Great stay in a wonderful house

A great house in a beautiful and quiet area at the Golden Road. It had everything you need to feel at home. Especially the kitchen is well equiped and the beds are very confy. As we stayed there with two couplés, the two bathrooms were a real bonus.

Hebridean summer!!

Excellent accommodation with beautiful views from the cottage. It was immaculately clean with everything we needed. The beaches on Harris were amazing especially Luskentyre. We were so lucky with the weather as well so couldn’t fault the holiday at all.

What a brilliant cottage

This property has everything you will need for your stay on Harris, exceptionally well presented and equipped. The owners have done everything to ensure that aĺ needs are catered for. The location whilst being remote is extremely peaceful and within easy reach of Tarbert for supplies and the ferry.
The sun does not always shine on the Isles but this cottage is a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow

Fantastic Cottage with lovely views

Lovely house

The garden was fabulous for our dog. Completely fenced and the situation of the house was beautiful. Anyone staying there would definitely need a car.

Great cottage, great location.

We loved Macaulay cottage - it’s in a great location for visiting the many wonderful beaches and bays on Harris. The cottage has everything you need and the owners are really helpful. It was a great place to return to after a day out. Some of the well known walks (Scholars path and coffin trail) start from the cottage or nearby. We enjoyed kayaking with seals in the the bay by the cottage.

Fabulous place 10/10

A great house, brilliant location, very quiet and well equipped, everything you needed for a wonderful holiday. There was plenty of space, the kitchen was well equipped, and the hosts were friendly and made us feel very welcome , along with our 5 Scottish Terriers. We all had a great time and will definitely be back. Thank you.

Our great week at Macauley Cottage

Lovely quiet cottage

The cottage was spotless. we arrived to find a bottle of wine and fresh eggs waiting for us. We were made very welcome by Maree's parents on her behalf. The location was ideal for us to locate our days out walking on and among the hills. We hope to stay again

Beautiful area.

We really enjoyed our holiday cottage stay, it was nice, warm and cosy.We always love our holidays on the islands, we love the craggy area and the lochs and lochans, it's so nice and peaceful. Christmas at the cottage

We looked forward to Christmas in Grosebay for almost 12 months and we were not disappointed. The hosts were fantastic and nothing was too much trouble when we asked questions in advance of our stay. The photos of the property really do not do the justice the cottage deserves. Its spotless, spacious and extremely well equipped. The location was perfect, close enough to visit everything we wanted to. We definitely intend to visit again in the warmer months but we had a christmas to remember forever.

Great cottage in spectacular setting

This cottage enjoys a fantastic setting in Harris, a short drive from some of the best beaches you will ever see, mountains, wildlife and 2 billion year-old rocks! There is a large, secure garden outside and inside is warm and spacious with every facility you will need. I would not hesitate in recommending this property.

Homely,welcoming cottage

Property was excellent. Couldn't fault it. Lovely welcoming touches. Absolutely everything we needed was there. Very comfortable and space wise for 7 perfect. Lovely welcome from hosts mother who we could go to for anything we needed. Location was great for going north, south or west. East would have taken us out to sea!! Many thanks.
