  • E Komo Mai (Welcome to my home). As your host and a thirty-three year resident of Oahu, I offer you the best of my experience and love of the islands. Let me share my fondness of Hawaii with you.

    Perfect for your 180+ day immerse-yourself-in-Hawaii study or work get away!
    Whether single, a couple, or family near a great beach in a cherished part of "the Gathering Place" of Hawaii. Allow yourself the luxury of a perfect Hawaiian place nestled in a charming neighborhood between access to the outside world and the most delicious white sand beach that your toes will ever sink into. Just a few short steps from our home on our beach lane and you will find yourself transported to an ocean world free of care in God's wonderful ocean. A coral reef protects the shoreline so that gentle waves lap at your feet. As you stroll past the calm waters and the natural tidal pool, fondly known as "alligator pond" you will have access to deeper water and larger waves for the more adventurous swimmer.

    I will do my best to guide you from the best local entertainment, ie. the Polynesian Cultural Center (1.75 miles away), to sightseeing, surfing activities, fine dining, Turtle Bay Resort, and more.

    Located just 31.5 miles from the airport and a mostly shoreline view drive, the turquoise waters will follow and welcome as you approach your destination. Your private suite entrance opens to a spacious 20 by 30 living area opening to a lovely lanai (patio) garden. The exquisitely appointed classic Hawaiian decor with its open room allows for a feeling of freedom and relaxed flow. The suite has a large comfortable sleeping area with king bed separates from the main living area. Included are four twin beds in the main living area to accommodate up to a total of six + in the main suite. The bedroom is perfect for study or separate seclusion. If the 'simple life' is more to your taste, waken in the morning to the songs of Hawaiian doves playing in our Norfolk pine and 3 palms. Or listen for the soft whispering of the surf in the late evening as you stroll to the water for a tidal pool swim. You may never want to leave.

    If you need time to explore Hawaiian life as you contemplate an eventual move to Hawaii, whether for business or pleasure, you will have it. You can stay for as long as you wish. Perfect Northshore Studio

Our family loved the time we spent at Kents place on the north shore of Oahu. It’s about a 50yd walk from the beach and nearby to local stores. Kent and his wife were very welcoming and happy to give advice on places to check out. Would HIGHLY recommend!

Home away from home

Very lucky to find this rare of a gem. The value of this place what it can offer was hard to find. Kent made sure you have everything you need to make your vacation as comfortable and as fun as you can you have. Beach chairs and body boards and other beach accessories that you might need are provided. It is less than a minute walk to a beautiful almost secluded beach that offers this amazing sunrises and sunsets. Very close to Polynesian Cultural Center if you want to experience, learn the Hawaiian history and it’s hard to beat Luau and Ha Breath of life Show (it’s a must and book early). If you’re in for an adventure kayak and hike to the top of China Man’s Hat, from there you have this jaw dropping view of the Koolau mountains. Kent’s place is not far from North Shore’s famous beaches. It’s very close to local eateries and food trucks. Kent is a very accommodating host, made us feel it’s our home away from home. We were disappointed that his place was not available for an extended stay. It mets all the check lists and beyond that my family needed for an excellent vacation. I would definitely stay here again. Thank you Kent.

Just what we needed

Kent was so inviting and helpful. The property was perfect for our needs; everything we needed was provided. Probably the part we liked best was its location so close to the beach. We enjoyed several beautiful sunrises. Would definitely recommend to anyone wanting to stay close to North Shore and away from the crowds of Honolulu/Waikiki.

Walk to the beach!

Overall we enjoyed our stay at Kent's place. Kent is a very nice guy and was always friendly when we chatted with him. The best part of the house is that it is only a few hundred feet from the beach! It was essential to us to have a washer, dryer and refrigerator, which this house did have. We loved the short distance to the North Shore, which was where we spent much of our time. Overall, this house worked well, as we were only there to sleep and for quick breakfasts in the morning.

Happy in Hauula, Hawaii

The property was exactly as presented in the listing and pictures. Comfortable and had everything we needed for our stay. It was nice to be able to cook for ourselves in the kitchen and do laundry. The backyard was a nice reprieve, though the patio furniture needs some TLC. Not only is it steps from the beach, it is also just a short drive from the Polynesian Cultural Center, which we highly recommend! We easily drove to the North Shore and took in the breathtaking views along the way. Kent was super helpful with restaurant and grocery store directions. Overall, we absolutely loved our time and are very grateful for the experience.

Great space

We really enjoyed our stay here. It was close to many fun places to explore. The space was very big and comfortable for our family of four. Kent was a helpful and accommodating host. Everything we needed was supplied including beach chairs and boogie boards. We would happily stay here again on our next visit!

Amazing amenities and close to a rarely frequented beach

Check in was easy and everything was as stated in the listing. Kent was so accommodating and helpful. Great location and we were so glad to be away from all the crowds. We would definitely stay here again and we hope to some day.

Perfect location

This was the perfect location for a family trip. We were able to do many activities around Laie, and the north shore. We snorkled at Turtle Bay, Sharks Cove, and right at the beach down the street. Kent was a great host and very helpful. Would stay here again if I were traveling to Hawaii again.

Wonderful Stay

Our stay at Kent's home was wonderful. It was everything we expected and more. We enjoyed the boogie boards, beach chairs, beach towels and more that was provided by Kent for our use during our stay. Kent was easy to reach if we had any questions and was so much help. We loved the access to the beach just at the end of the street. The neighbors were noisy at times, but it only bothered us one night when we were in bed and they were will loud at midnight during the weekend. We didn't say anything, since we knew they were having a birthday party. The home was clean, and had everything we needed. We would recommend Kent's place to everyone!! It was also such a great price!! We looked at many locations and nothing compared to this one, and I think for being one of the best priced we couldn't have asked for anything better! Thank you Kent for your wonderful hospitality. Mahalo!

Great Location & Value

We enjoyed our stay at Kent's property for all the reasons stated by other reviewers. It was a perfect base to explore the north and east sides of the island. The space was a little bigger than we expected and met our needs. The value is exceptional.

The owner made us feel very welcome and provided everything we needed or wanted for a comfortable stay. He maintained communication whilst insuring/respecting our privacy. Our family loved that we were just steps from the beach.

Great place on Oahu

This property is a great value for the location and convenience in Oahu. It's close to North Shore but also easy drive to Honolulu. The close-by (walkable) beach is beautiful, amazing and quiet. The accommodations are comfortable with great amenities. We would definitely stay here again.

A marvelous experience

This was a wonderful place to stay with the family for our week’s vacation. The rental has a fully equipped kitchen, access to beach chairs and boogie boards, full laundry, very comfortable beds, beach access at the end of the short road, quiet street, access to grocery shopping, and plenty of space! We are a family of 7 adults sharing the space and were not crowded. Additionally, we had friends over and it was quite comfortable . The rental is a studio but, as previously stated, “if you like each other, it’s no problem.” Kent is a delightful host, responsive to anything that comes up, and it was a pleasure to be a guest on his property. The island is starting to open up with larger venues being open in the next month. We are a little disappointed to miss these events. Even so, we were able to travel around the island and enjoy many outdoor adventures.... paddle boarding, snorkeling, lots of beaches and hiking. Our main purpose was our daughter’s wedding and getting to know our new son-in-law and his family . Mission accomplished!

Perfect Stay and location

Kent was very helpful. He greeted our family at arrival. His location was spot on with where we wanted to be m. His place was very spacious and clean. We loved our stay there and loved the AC. Perfect location

The stay was wonderful! The location is perfect- the beach is a 5 minute walk- no need to cross a busy street to get to the beach. We were close to amazing hikes Like the huula loop trail, shops are a 10 minute walk (pharmacy, restaurants and supermarket). Kent is a kind soul. Would have stayed longer but it was booked :)

Wonderful place

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Kent's place. He was a gracious host who was very quick to help out if we needed anything. The property provides a short walking distance to a family friendly beach, which was very nice for our family. We would certainly stay here again. Thank you Kent!
