  • The Retreat at Hempstead is nestled on five acres in quiet Hempstead, Texas. The property includes a beautiful newly renovated 4900 sq. ft. country home - THE RETREAT HOUSE and a 2160 sq. ft. event venue - THE BARN @ THE RETREAT (requires separate event fees). Whether you are looking for a girl's weekend getaway, family vacation or reunion, birthday or graduation celebration, weddings and anniversaries, scouting weekend or small group/corporate day or night retreat, we have the location just for you!

    The Retreat House has 6 bedrooms, 4 baths, and kids/teen sleeping and lounge room. Accommodates 24 people (up to 28 with sofa beds and futons). Large game room includes bar with seating for 4, living room area, dining table seats 14, breakfast room seats 6, and kitchen bar seating. The multi-purpose room with mounted flat screen television is ideal for meetings and presentations, wellness and yoga, arts and crafts.
    Enjoy the outdoors bug free on the 2000 sq. ft. screened in patio. Sip and Soak in the Hot Tub and Bar area. Lounge by the fireplace, cook on the grill, dine al fresco or just relax with a good book or take in a sunrise/sunset.

    Take a walk on the nature trail, cast your luck in the stocked catch and release pond, take an afternoon nap in one of the hammocks, and end the night with a campfire under the stars.

    Plenty of outdoor games and activities for all ages. Basketball, ping pong, volleyball, badminton, archery, horseshoes, corn-hole and more!

    Escape the hustle and bustle of the city and enjoy the sights and sounds of the outdoors. Whether you are looking for a weekend getaway with family and friends or planning that special event, come see why moments become memories at The Retreat at Hempstead.

    THE BARN EVENT SPACE rental fee includes 60" round tables, chairs, cocktail tables, cake table, gift table, bar, arbor, linens, centerpieces and sound system.

    WEDDING & EVENT PACKAGES AVAILABLE - Includes lodging and everything from rehearsal to reception!

    EVENT BASE FEES - Event only (no lodging /no house access)

    $500 refundable damage deposit

Happiness at Hempstead Retreat

We had about 23 adults and 2 kids with us, the house was PERFECT for all of us, very well-built surrounded by gorgeous scenery, lots to do (games) for entertaining all ages. This was the best place for all of us so far since starting up our Reunions, Thank you!

Wonderful Retreat for the Weekend!

This property was an incredible spot for a ladies retreat weekend, and Jennifer and Tracy were such attentive and helpful hosts! The house was spacious and clean as described, but we especially loved the large screened back porch, hammocks, fire pit, and hot tub areas. We had a wonderful time and would definitely recommend it!

Great Experience!

We enjoyed this property so much. There were plenty of areas to congregate and if we needed downtime lots of lovely bedrooms. The kids enjoyed fishing and playing air hockey in the game room. We had a really wonderful family reunion at this great location!

First, the property and the home are beautiful. Jennifer was such an amazing host. She went out of her way to make sure we were taken care of. I absolutely would love to use this property again for another retreat.

Great get-together for my dad's birthday

We all enjoyed the property, we went fishing in the morning, played games in the afternoon. The property was very peaceful and quiet. It was a great place to celebrate my dad's 80th birthday.

Definitely a retreat

If you are looking for a quiet, secluded getaway this is it. A peaceful property with lots of good old fashioned fun (hammocking, board games, hot tub, ping pong, fireplace and bond fire, etc.). Plenty of room to spread out and relax.

This house is beautiful and cozy! There are plenty of activities to do and enjoy with friends and family. Kudos for Jennifer and Tracy who are awesome hosts. They were always in close communication and made us feel very comfortable.

Perfect Getaway and Amazing Amenities

Beautiful house and huge enclosed patio! Lots of activities for all ages. Kids and adults loved catching all the large fish in the lake. Basketball area and fire pit were among the many outdoor activities. Host is also amazing and very responsive. Would definitely stay again!

We had a blast for our annual meet up and fantasy league sheningans. The property and home are beautiful with plenty of space for a large group. The owners very very accommodating and quick to communicate. Plenty of fun games and activities to do at the house. Thank you!
