There was no microwave in the room, so I had to use the one in the breakfast bar area. WiFi was extremely weak from my room; it might be better if one's room were closer to the front office. The breakfast bar did not offer much by way of protein options. The manager was very helpful when I made book errors.

You might see the low price on the hotel and assume that it must be a crappy place. You would be wrong. It is clean, well maintained, and comfortable. The breakfast was a bit sparse, but it is a solid stay with ownership that seems to care about the place. I particularly appreciated the fact my room was nice and dark as it looked over a field instead of the usual bright parking lot lights. I guess the only reason it is cheap is because it is in a small town.

Manager and family who run the hotel walk around barefooted, had to ask for toiletries, room got bypassed for clean, killed a couple of spiders that were on the wall

No elevator, so second floor room didn’t work for us as Seniors. Second room had several dead bugs(roaches?) on floor when you came into room. When frig opened in 3rd room, much water came out- not ever cold. Hole noted in wall apparently from door handle. Couldn’t understand what clerk said at times. Breakfast quite minimal-sugar frosted flakes only cereal. No yogurt, eggs or meat. Waffles and bagels main items. Only motel in Hillsboro. I recommend staying in Lindsborg about 30 miles away for better lodging( clerk didn’t even know where Lindsborg was). Slept well, but sheets not large enough and came off at corners- we found ourselves on the mattress cover when we woke up. You had to use a key to get into front door. We were given only 1 room key. Price was reasonable.

Hotel could use new larger towels and better toiletries. Either improve the breakfast or not offer it all. Otherwise, good quiet stay...just could use a few upgrades to make it better. Will definitely stay again.

Lighting outside was poorly lit. It smelled when you first walked in. The room was clean and didn't have an oder. The lady in the morning was very nice.

Small town, exceeded expectations!

Overall, a good experience. As the only hotel in a very small town, I didn't know what to expect, but it was clean and comfy. For the first night, we were the only occupants in the entire place, so I think it's fair to say the owners are doing their best with a limited income stream. Positives: AC worked well, everything was secure and it was clean. Breakfast nook was clean, rooms were clean, all very good in that department. Owner was very business-like, not rude by any means, but not very talkative at check-in. Negatives: Pillows were not good at all. Staying with family but the 2 rooms shared doors with different doors, not each other. (Not "bad" but defeats having adjacent rooms.) Breakfast was very sparse, almost not worth even having out, but again, to be fair, we were the ONLY occupants, so maybe when there are more people the breakfast would have more variety. (We left before it was out the 2nd morning.) In summary, in a very small town, these folks are running a clean facility and when I visit again in a few weeks, I'll stay there again.

Enjoyed the ambiance of an older mansion from 19th century. Word frame of bed and bedroom of all just beautiful. Breakfast very wonderful. Hot tub is quite new. Chlorine can be a bit strong, but keep ceiling fans running to disperse the strong chlorine
