The historical charm of Nana's nest

  • Charming one and 1/2 bedroom apartment located in historic downtown Wilmington. Romantic master bedroom with comfy pillows, and down comforter, decorated for the holidays. Ensuite bathroom complete with soft towels and simple necessities to make your stay feel like home. Relax with one of our great books or play a game, both are at your fingertips. Enjoy the essentials in the full kitchen complete with table settings for 6, coffee, tea and hot cocoa. A third guest can also enjoy the cozy sleeping nook. A queen air mattress and couch are available and can be used for 3 additional guests.

    Conveniently located near great locally owned businesses and restaurants, many within walking distance. This is a great place to stay for the holidays or a weekend getaway. Located directly on the parade route for WHS Homecoming and Holidazzle and next door to the Saturday farmers' market and many great festivals and events in downtown Wilmington. Also near Wilmington College, Southern State, Cowan Lake, Caesar's Creek, and the World Equestrian Center. Kings Island and Prime Outlets are a short 30-minute drive. Only 45 min to downtown Cincinnati, Dayton it Columbus.

    Wonderful restaurants within walking distance include the Historic General Denver, the Mediterranean and Fiesta Vera Cruz.

    The Murphy Christmas show, Holidazzle parade and Hometown holidays are great seasonal activities.

    A few more blocks down enjoy the best coffee and scones around at the Kava Haus or do a little shopping at one of the cute boutiques, used book shop or antique shops at the old mill.
    Guests will enjoy the entire apartment with kitchen, bathroom, and laundry.

    This apartment is completely private, so no worries about sharing space with other guests. Reserved off-Street parking also available. The apartment is located on the second floor so guest must be able to use stairs.

    Guests may give us a call or text. If you are looking for things to do, we are more than willing to make suggestions or arrangements for you.

    Great place to stay in the downtown Wilmington historic district. This is a great small town with wonderful galleries, theatre and music. We love our small town and can't wait for you to enjoy it too.

Friend hang out

We had a great time. It was a perfect place for us to hang out with my teenage daughter's friend who is a local. We enjoyed just chilling and relaxing after a day at the Newport Aquarium. Would stay again. We want to try Papsy's ice cream.

Wonderful place

We had a great experience. Our host was very timely in answering questions. Everything was very clean and the bed was so comfortable! If/when we are back in the area we will definitely stay here!

Visiting Family in the area

Great location. Older building but roomy. Hosts were easy to contact, and check-in and check-out was a breeze. Some street noise but not too bad. Appliances were good. Will stay again.

Great stay

The apartment space was clever, creative and fun. We loved it! A great walk in the morning on the streets of Wilmington. We want to return to the town and check out some shops when we have more time!

Great Place

The apartment is very roomy and comfortable. And very convenient for activities in Wilmington area. Only suggestion would be it needs a snow shovel, basic salt and pepper, and a personal preference would be darkening curtains for the bedroom. We definitely hope to stay here again.

Roomy and comfortable

Lovely apartment with everything we could need. We stayed one night and the place was clean, the bed was comfortable and the living room was very nice. It rained quite a bit so we spent more time than we intended inside. We were glad for the lovely space. The place is right in town, and thankfully the town was very quiet after dark. We rested well.

Nice quaint private place to stay.

We were here for the horse show. Close, easy to get to. Having a kitchen was a real plus for us. Even though things were going on downtown, the apartment was plenty quiet .

Nice and Cold in the middle of the heat!

We had the pleasure of meeting the owner who is absolutely delightful! Nothing was more welcome after VERY hot days then coming home to the cool apartment. Its quirky and cute!

Cozy but outdated

It was easy to find and get inside. It is very oudated and could clean the place better. No hot water in kitchen sink. Bed was comfy and was pretty quiet there. It was ok since we inly stayed 2 nights.

Amazing Stay

My husband and I travel frequently and always use VRBO. This has been my absolute stay ever. The house is so cute and comfortable! The neighborhood is so clean and everyone is so friendly. We enjoyed the stay so much that my husband has started looking at houses for sale!!!! ❤️

charming rooms

Charming rooms however the steps and entry were lacking. Very rickety steps and small landing made the entry bordering on dangerous.

Old but comfortable

Was clean and adequately supplied. Icemaker did not work. Every floor is on a different level. WATCH YOUR STEP! If you are over 5 ft tall, WATCH YOUR HEAD going up the second set of steps inside.

Thrilled with this space and stay

We love old houses and loved staying here. Any old house quirks were charming and not uncomfortable in the slightest. Beds were comfy. Lots of extra comforts provided (coffee and creamer, robe, etc). I LOVED that one of the twin beds was set up in the living room right off the bedroom. My toddler was happy to sleep in it because she could see us, but it was far enough away that our phones and lights didn't bother her. We attend the Ren Faire every year and will stay here each time we come! Was about 15 min from the faire (Also lots of fun restaurants and little shops near the house.)

The property is super quaint and cute. Stuff is in a bit of disrepair but I didnt expect hotel quality. Its super cute and the host added lots of personal touches. What we didn't like was the fact that we had to wash our own dishes, take out the trash, and load the washer before we left. I'm sorry but what is the point of a stay away from home if I have to do the same chores? And why am I paying a cleaning fee if I have to do half myself?

Well worth the money.

Very good apartment with so much space. Everything you could need. I even enjoyed a hot cup of tea one night. Just watch your head as you come down the steps from the kitchen. Not thinking I stepped down a couple times and bonked my head on the door frame. That is the only issue I had. The shower takes a few minutes to warm up but once it does it is nice hot water.

Easy Stay

Our stay was enjoyable! Nana's Nest is located in a good location for walking to have dinner out and even though on a main street it was quiet enough for a good nights sleep.
