“Beautiful resort, incredibly friendly staff, great restaurant options and incredible skiing 2 minutes away. We stayed 6 nights and enjoyed every single minute of it. The only restaurant I couldn’t recommend is the shabu-shabu restaurant as the portions were small and not much flavour for the money. Well kept rooms, ski/ board storage was great and the onsen was one of the best I’ve visited in Japan. ”

“We had a wonderful time at this ryokan. We chose this inn specifically for its remote location and traditional atmosphere and were not disappointed. The hotel, outdoor onsen, and woodsy surroundings were all excellent. The building is old and reminded me of the railroad lodges of the western United States: creaky old doors and floors, metal keys, and rotary dial phones. Other than the hotel, there are no restaurants nearby (that I know of) and dinner is an elaborate kaiseki ryori that requires...

“I love the Tanbo no Yu! I can tell that its being fixed up more everytime I come here! This time, really enjoyed the pure stream bath it was very warm and a comfortable place to chat with my husband. The food was delicious and healthy with many flavors and unlimited hokuriku rice!
