Location was great, pool was nice, but not our favorite stay. House wasn’t very comfortable, towels were 30 years old. Definitely an odd check-in process. Hosts were nice, but we wouldn’t go back here.

The host was very welcoming and helpful. We even communicated before our trip to help us plan. The house was really nice and very comfortable for 2 couples. Beds were great. We cooked a dinner and had all of our breakfasts and lunches there. The kitchen was well supplied. We also enjoyed the pinball machine and hanging out around the pool. The bird life around the house was great too. Finally, it was very quick and easy to walk to the beach--it really is only 3 minutes. Oh, and we used the free island trolley a number of times to get up to the north end of the island for restaurants

Nice property. Not so nice host: "we are not in the hotel business"

Our stay was June 11-17, 2025, and while the property was generally nice, significant issues led to a 2-star rating. The house was clean and well-located, but our experience was marred by an excessively hot pool and an unacceptable response from the host.The pool, a key amenity, was too hot for recreational use, measuring 94F initially and 92F after days without the cover (the ocean was 84F). The host noted at check-in that the insulated cover, used to keep out animals, caused the high temperature, but this wasn’t disclosed in the listing. We requested a partial credit for this issue, which was reasonable.Other concerns included limited paper supplies (1 paper towel roll and 4 toilet paper rolls for 5 days, supplemented after our request) and a significant garbage disposal leak (fixed next day). The most troubling aspect was the host’s response. After raising the pool issue, we received a threatening VRBO message from Valerie, accusing us of harassing her husband into hospitalization with “petty issues” and engaging in “review threats” and “refund blackmail.” These claims were baseless; our communications were polite and factual. VRBO agreed and resolved our refund request after they were unable to contact the host.While the house has potential, the pool issue and hostile accusations overshadowed our stay. Future guests should be aware of these concerns.I have attached the message from the host and a summary of our communications.

Location and property were fantastic

Pros: Overall our stay way everything we expected and needed. Location was perfect, home and pool were amazing. Communication with property owner was above and beyond. We had a larger group than expected and they understood and accommodated. Answered all questions promptly and we had everything we needed the for week. Property was clean and had everything we needed. We have stayed at many locations on the island over the past 9 years and we would definitely stay at this property again.Con’s: outside critters are very bad, maybe the time of year. We got ate up by bugs more than we ever have. We didn’t spend much time out at the pool in the evening because of this. There were no outside lighting for the pool in the evening, we bought inexpensive battery stick lights before we knew how bad the outside bugs were. Beds were not comfortable at all, first couple nights were a rough sleep. I think our bodies just started adapting. Check in was strange, we have never had a an owner meet us directly when renting from Airbnb or Vrbo. We arrived late and would’ve preferred to be able to get in and get out of the heat but we had to meet owner for key and walk through. These aren’t complaints as we truly had a great time and was thankful our family was accommodated. Just suggestions for the beds and outside lighting.

Very well maintained, clean & well stocked property, the house has a complete water filtration system which doesn't seem like a big deal but it was so nice. Quick walk to the beach and short drive to shops/resturants on the rest of the island. Enjoyed our stay very much.

Easiest trip

Our family stayed over Easter weekend. Everything here is easy. Easy to beach easy to eat easy to grocery shop. Property is so conviently located that you dont really need to drive when you get here. Property had everything we needed. Gil and Valerie are great to work with. Hope to be back.

Great Location

From the very start our experience for this vacation was wonderful. When I first requested the booking the owner responded very quickly with information and confirmation. Upon arrival we were greeted by the hosts who showed us around and went over all the necessary details of the property. My husband and I spent my birthday week in this lovely home near Holmes Beach. It was spotlessly clean, the kitchen was very well appointed and the beds were comfortable. Everything necessary to enjoy beach time was available for our use including folding chairs, umbrella and mini cooler. There were even bicycles! The walk to the beach was short and easy. It was only a short drive to the grocery store, drug store and may other amenities. We would definitely stay here again.

Amazing stay

We thoroughly enjoyed our time at this property. The home was great for our family of 4. The location could not have been more perfect for our needs. The street is quiet and perfectly situated between the north and south parts of the island. The trolley stop was just a block away and we enjoyed the availability of the bicycles to explore. The new pool was an added treat, no need to leave if you just want to relax. The pool is full sun in the morning and the deck sunny most of the day, with the water shaded in the afternoon. The beach is a quick 2 block walk, and the provided wagon, chairs, cooler and umbrella made for an easy beach day. Laundry is available on the lower level (must go outside and downstairs) I would just suggest a laundry basket be made available for carrying items. The garage was nice to have and kept our rental car cool. We did not cook much this trip, other than breakfast. But, the kitchen had a decent stock of items for simple cooking. A blender would be nice and some plastic cups for use by the pool or for families with small children. Beach blankets were nice to have available. I would suggest some new bath towels (although there were plenty of towels available that met our needs). I have no complaints, just suggestions! The hosts were helpful and available if needed. We love AMI and would definitely stay at this property again.

Perfect Girls Trip to AMI

This was placed in the best neighborhood close to the beach and stores. We had fun riding bikes around the island and discovering new places from the south to the north. The beds were comfortable and the place was clean and perfect for our quick getaway.

Beautiful Anna Maria Island

We had a lovely 2 week visit. Our vrbo was conveniently located near the beaches,restaurants & shopping. The house had been recently remodeled. It was fully furnished with dishwasher, washer & dryer & wifi. The owners provided beach chairs, umbrella, beach toys with a wagon to carry them in. Also bikes were available as well. There were 3 of us for 2 weeks with a visit from our daughter & 5yr old grandson.The 3 of us are in our 70s & 80s, We found the stairs up to the living area to be difficult for us, There was an elevator to bring luggage & groceries up but apparently not working at the time, The owner has had a pool put in but was not ready for use at the time we were there,I would not recommend this lovely place to anyone with mobility issues or to families with small children as there is not a lot of space for play. That being said the location of this vrbo is so convenient that it would be easy to overlook any negatives, especially with the addition of the pool.The owners are lovely and very accommodating. We so enjoyed being away from the cold & snow of Upstate NY for 2 weeks!

We had a great time, the house was very clean and the hosts were very helpful at check in. It is in a quiet location and had all the amenities that we needed. The washer and dryer were a big plus. It is also a shorter walk to the beach.

Wonderful Vacation

We so enjoyed our stay. The house was very clean and just lovely. Gill and his wife were so nice. We really enjoyed talking to them. They made sure that we had everything we needed. The location was perfect. It was great being so close to the beach. Also, it was so handy being close to the trolley stop. We hope to come back and very much appreciate the hospitality they showed to us.

Cozy and Comfortable

The owners personal approach makes a huge difference on this property. Gil and Valerie made us feel welcomed and met us there on our first day. The home was clean and had almost everything that we may need, plus some extra welcome goodies. It's not a long walk to the beach, it's a quiet area where the house is located and not far from a Plaza with stores, pharmacy, Publix and ice cream. We celebrated my daughter, Husband and my Mother's birthday. Everyone loved the place!

Just Amazing!

The house was wonderful, with everithing we need it! The game room is awesome. The beach is only a few steeps from the house. The beach is clear, clean, family environment. The Anna María pier and city is so beautiful. Definitly the best vacation house in Anna María.

A Special Stay Near the Beach

The house is very close to the beach, making it perfect for a relaxing vacation. It’s a beautiful and immaculate home, equipped with everything you need to feel at home. The owners are very helpful and attentive, always ready to assist. The area is very nice and quiet, with restaurants and shops within walking distance. We would definitely repeat the experience.
