The property itself was wonderful and perfect for families. We had a great time making memories that will stay with us forever. Although, the property management company Vacasa made a huge mistake during our stay. While my family, which includes two girls under 7, went out to dinner, they sent a man to our unit to change out our locks, unknowingly to us. No one from Vacasa bothered to send us a text message, email or even make a phone call to let us know that a man would be entering our unit. We came home our lock code wouldn’t work. Luckily we knew the lockbox code as we weren’t given the correct entry code upon arrival. My husband had noticed the lock was different on the front door as he was opening it. When stepped into our unit, we noticed that the kitchen cabinet had been opened, and there were hardware pieces from the locks on the kitchen table. We immediately knew that someone had been there without our knowledge. My two young girls were immediately terrified, thinking that someone had broken in. Since we didn’t know anything about a worker coming, my husband immediately called the police. I called Vacasa to let them know about the incident. When I spoke to the manager, she told me that she meant to call me, but got caught up doing other things. She was rude to me and had an attitude, acting as if the issue was no big deal. My girls spent the remaining nights afraid to go to sleep in their room thinking some one would be coming into the house. Incredibly disappointing.
