I have stayed at Papakea multiple times - different units. I like how I can be feet from the ocean, have enough amenities to occupy teens and parents (tennis, putting green, pools, shuffle board, cornhole, etc., a short walk to multiple restaurants and groceries, and centrally located car ride to Kapalua and Kaanapali.

Terrific location and unit was in excellent condition. Only minus was no local TV stations available on televisions to check news and weather. Also, TV in living room takes a degree in astrophysics to operate.

This condo is in a great location and the Papakea Resort is a nice resort. Yes, it is ocean front! The kitchen was well stocked with everything you would expect for pots, pans, silverware, etc. The unit cooled off after sunset and had a good breeze with the front door open (there is a screen door). A/C worked well when it was needed. The A/C does make the lanai hot from the outside unit so we would turn off when we wanted to hang out on the lanai. The couch in the living area is more like a loveseat than a full size couch so don't plan to stretch out on the couch while watching tv! The unit had five or so beach chairs, a beach umbrella, two boogie boards, limited snorkel equipment, ice chest, and beach toys. The unit is close to a food truck yard and the Fish Market which offers fresh fish and a limited seafood menu.

We had a wonder Maui vacation. We stayed here last year and would definitely recommend to others. Condo is very nice and equipped with everything needed and the view is spectacular. Did not disappoint.

Family getaway

We loved this property. The location couldn’t have been better. We took my 86 year old mom and even if she wasn’t up to going out, she was in ocean front Maui! The home was well taken care of and beautifully decorated. Even the pots and pans were high end and made cooking easy. Very special trip!

Great Trip

We arrived late at night, and front desk was closed, but we were able to communicate via text with our property manager and got into our unit just fine. The unit and facilities were as described and we enjoyed our stay very much. Thank you!

Nice place

We have 2 gripes that would keep us from staying here again. 1. The balcony has the ac condenser (?) on it. There is a constant humming coming from it so you don’t have the experience of hearing just nature. It also puts out a lot of heat so with it being a small balcony you have to go to the opposite end to be comfortable. I’m assuming the entire resort is set up this way and not specific to this unit. 2.The ac is on a 6 hour timer so at some point it turns off while you sleep and while your away exploring the island.

Fabulous Maui Vacation

The condo was exactly as described. Spectacular view of the ocean and very clean and spacious for the four of us. We would wake up every morning to enjoy our coffee on the patio overlooking the ocean. Decent quality sand chairs and a cooler were provided along with snorkel gear. We would definitely recommend to anyone.

My family of 4 truly enjoyed this beautifully updated condo. The gorgeous kitchen and great room has amazing views. Great space with all the essential beach accessories. My kids enjoyed the boogie boards and Mauiopoly. The grounds are well maintained. We enjoyed pool/hot tub in the evenings.

Condo was as pictured. Loved having coffee on the lanai every morning. The grounds were beautiful. Always found parking. It would have been nice to have more than one kitchen towel. Would definitely stay here again!!

Perfect location!

We loved our time here! It is exactly like the pictures. It was the perfect size and location for our family of four. My husband and I spent lots of time on the balcony whale watching - it was amazing! We also really appreciated Darci helping us with all the activities prior to our stay. She was awesome! Waves and turtles and whales!

Lovely condo with just enough space for our family of 4. Loved having breakfast on the balcony watching turtles swim in the surf and whales breach in the basin. Well located for access to Kaanapali and Kapalua. Clean and well furnished. Highly recommended.

Relaxing in Paradise

We stayed at the Papakea resort for a week in June 2023. The condo was perfect for my husband and I and our two boys, age (almost 18) and 21. My youngest used the snorkle gear, had his own fins, and swam out past the reef almost every day. We were 20 minutes from our beloved Lahaina, and I believe this resort is still standing as I think it was beyond the fire. (My heart is breaking for Maui and the victims of the Lahaina fire.) If you are looking for a nice place to stay on vacation, this is still it. The only tourist thing we did this time was the bike ride with the Maui Bike Company, which was great. (Do that on your first night so that waking up at 130 AM to get there by 3 AM is not a problem. Don't know if the roads are open now or not.) Would love to return in a year or two. Thank you!

Ideal Maui Vacation Location

We had an amazing week in this unit. The view could not be better, the unit was clean and very comfortable for the 4 of us. The proximity to the beach and the pool was great! Nothing but great memories from our week staying in this location.

Literally Paradise

We had an amazing trip to Maui. It was our first time ever visiting Hawaii and what a great trip we had. Staying here was one of the best decisions we made. We seriously went back-and-forth between this unit and staying at one of the large resorts close by. After visiting one of the resorts, it was clear, we made the right decision. Everything is so clean, beautiful, quiet, and relaxing. The grounds are meticulously cared for. The unit was beautiful and well-appointed. The beds were comfy. The view was fabulous. Every meal we ate in the unit, we ate on the porch overlooking the ocean. It just doesn’t get any better than that. The memories we made were priceless, and lots of those memories were made right here in this unit, at this property. Highly recommend using Deming’s delivery service. We had a late arrival after two very long flights so we had Demings go ahead and pre-shop for us based on a grocery list that we provided. Such care went into shopping for us. She even used coupons on many items for us. I sincerely appreciate her taking that extra step. It was wonderful experience that I would not hesitate to use again. Restaurant recommendations: Honu, Mala, Kimo’s, Fleetwoods, the Farmers Market Maui (take a left out of the property and it’s may be a mile down on your right), and the best cinnamon rolls ever are right outside the property to the left, on the left at Papi’s Ohana (get in line before they officially open). Thank you for a wonderful trip!

Spring break family trip

We had a wonderful stay. Enjoyed the property and amenities. The property was well kept and quiet…we especially enjoyed sitting on the lanai and watching the ocean and whales. The location is close to activities and food. Would highly recommend staying at this property!

Wonderful Maui condo!

Exactly as described and pictured. Huge bonus was watching the whales from the lanai. The first morning a water pipe burst impacting the entire resort but communications were great and water was restored by afternoon. We would love to stay here again! Food truck park a short walk away was great. We were in the ocean several times on the sand beach just a short walk away. Whole family loved it. Great beds and quiet for sleeping.

Perfect location and beautiful views!

This listing was just as expected! Location was perfect. Walking distance and view of the beaches that are easily accessible. We were able to swim every night! Views of amazing sunsets and whales galore in the stunning ocean view from the Lanai. The condo was very clean and the beds were extremely comfortable. The condo was stocked well too. The only issue we had was the surprise daily service fee from the management company. We ended up with around an extra $150 that had to be paid separately upon check-in, that we weren’t expecting or aware of. However, it still wouldn’t deter us from renting here again. We will definitely be back and stay at this location if we’re able!
