On our first full day we got locked out of our hotel room due to a malfunctioning lock. No one could unlock it with their online system so we had to wait over 30 minutes on two different occasions to get inside our room.Then, there were obvious plumbing issues seeing as the shower and bathroom sink never drained properly. Coming from the BEACH and not having functioning bathroom facilities for the duration of our stay was ridiculous.Additionally, there were smaller things I’d be willing to overlook (pillow with dirt streaks, flickering lights, etc), but these partnered with the larger issues made the stay less enjoyable.On top of all of this, the host did not respond to any of the issues we messaged him about. Property management did help during our stay, but I think there is need for more organization because we had to call multiple times to report on the same issue. Before continuing to rent out this property, I suggest this place go through a thorough inspection and see how they can improve. Best part about this place is the location and that’s about it. If you are considering booking, do it directly through Waikiki Banyan because the people at the front desk will be able to help and I assume it would mean a quicker resolution to issues during your stay. Otherwise, it’d be smart to look at other rentals in the area or splurge on a hotel.
