    Bedroom 2: Bunk (3ft) Beds

    Shower Room: Shower, Toilet. Gas central heating, gas, electricity, bed linen, towels and Wi-Fi included. Travel cot and highchair available on request. Welcome pack.. Enclosed courtyard with garden furniture and BBQ. Private parking for 1 car. No smoking.. This lovely ground floor conversion of a Grade II listed, former station master’s house provides an amazing location for the perfect Yorkshire coastal holiday. The station was designed by Rawlins Gould and opened on the 28th March 1864, closing 100 years later, on 19th October 1964, following the Beeching cuts. The property has been tastefully restored and enjoys some sea views from both bedrooms, and the twin bedroom has a 24" Freeview TV and DVD player.

    The sandy beaches are about 200 yards away, and there is a boat compound with launching facilities for boats, ribs and jetskis giving access to the sea. It is centrally located in the unspoilt seaside town of Hornsea, known as ’Lakeland by the Sea’, due to the presence in the town of Yorkshire’s largest natural freshwater lake, Hornsea Mere. Not only is the property close to the beach and promenade with its cafés and fish and chip shops, but it is also a short level stroll from the heritage town centre with its museum, shops, restaurants, cafés, bars and public parks, making it an ideal base for those wanting to relax and enjoy the area. Within just a few hundred yards of Station House you will find an indoor soft play facility and Hornsea’s main leisure centre, which offers an indoor heated swimming pool, gym, café and other facilities. Hornsea is also the finishing point for the Trans Pennine Way; from your doorstep you can cycle or walk through the town and out into open countryside on these wonderful, largely level, maintained leisure trails. Activities locally also include sailing and bird watching at Hornsea Mere, Hornsea Golf Course, Freeport shopping centre, Honeysuckle Farm and there is a boat compound with launching facilities. Further afield you’ll find The Deep (a huge aquarium) at Hull and, of course, Bridlington, Scarborough, York, Filey and Flamborough. Whatever the weather, and however you like to spend your holidays, either relaxing or being active, a stay at Station House in Hornsea will surely delight. Shop, pub and restaurant ¼ mile.

Owner responded to support needs during/after stay.Only suggestion would be comfier pillows.We had a wonderful weekend, plenty of space for a toddler to use up energy.

We had a lovely weekend at Station House. The flat was very clean and had all the home comforts that you needed. Location is great especially for dog walking. It was a very cold weekend, however the flat was lovely and cosy. The beach is 2 mins from the flat. Great place. We will return as soon as we can.

Perfect location for a dog walker.

Perfect location for a dog walker. Seconds from Penine Trail, and within sight of a grassy dog walking area and the sea. The apartment had everything we needed. EV charger within a couple of minutes walk and within sight of the house. The vibrant high street with coffee shops, pubs and restaurants is approx. 5 minutes walk away, as is a lovely park full of fellow dog walkers. Enjoyed it so much that we have booked again for 2025.

Really enjoyed our stay at station house, very clean, comfortable and well equipped, Excellent position, only used car once for a big shop when we got there.Hornsea is very dog friendly, and also people friendly. Brilliant week even though first 2 days it never stopped raining, quite happy to get back after walks and relax

The house was very comfortable, warm and clean and well equipped. Welcome basket was a nice touch the only fly in the ointment was the neighbours upstairs, the noise started Friday afternoon and continued over the weekend, it abated slightly during the week but hearing the washer at 1am in a morning wasn't great. I am a full time carer for my mother who has Alzheimer's disease, and I booked this break for mum, our two little dogs and myself. We were looking for easy rambling walks along the coast and a place to stay that would be a cosy little home-from-home and not too confusing for mum, I am pleased to say we found it in Station House. Mum loved it, was happy and relaxed and kept saying how nice it was, music to my ears! The little courtyard was perfect for the dogs, the cleanliness and well equipped kitchen were perfect for me. This is our second stay at Station House and the improvements made since last year have made the house even more comfortable. The house is well equipped and very convenient for all the amenities of Hornsea - many of which are wheelchair accessible and dog-friendly. As one of our party has very limited mobility the space to use a wheeled walker inside the property was vital and a level entry meant we could use the wheelchair from the door. We again hired a wheelchair from the local Lions Charity for the week. Grip rails in the shower would make this even better accomodation for those with mobility issues. The accommodation was easy enough to find, and the instructions for getting the keys worked well. On entering the flat, there was an overpowering smell of chemical air freshener, which caused one of our party to need to step outside and the rest of us find the plug ins and switch off. The flat was well equipped and a few cobwebs visible, though the rest of the cleaning was fine. We only stayed 2 nights and found the value for money wasn't quite as good, as we had to leave after the second night at 10am.
