Dirty & Unsafe
Walking in, you see a beautiful layout. Then, you hear voices from the unit downstairs which creeps you out a bit but feels secure as it is a separate unit. We started checking out the house and found a pill on the floor and then another and another. We saw dust bunnies and wrappers which must have lived there for a long time under all of the beds. We found used tissues in drawers. We found disgusting stains on the couches that didn't appear to have ever been wiped down. There were crumbs and trash all in the couches. Crumbs by the counter on the floor. The appliances were disgusting. We called the owner, and she said she had never had a complaint before and after seeing the photos and being told all of this said she could send her housekeeper back the next day for "dusting".
We told her we were not staying here as it is unsafe, especially with kids, and she said she would take $100 off and we had to talk her into the $150 cleaning fee back as well (putting me out almost $400). We had to spend some time finding a hotel with availability that short notice since we could not trust that beds were clean or anything in this home. How could you trust that anything was clean? The photos we took of this house are horrible, everyone we show is grossed out and said they would never stay there.
I don't write reviews, but this was the worst experience I've ever had with a rental or hotel. The owner should have cancelled our reservation and said she would look into this.
