The host forgot to give me the door code, which caused me to have to wait a long while to get in. As a result, I was late to a conference dinner meeting. Also, the house was just not clean. There was no dish detergent or dishwasher, the dishes in the pantry were sticky. There was long black curly hair in the utensil drawer, and it was also grimey. The carpets were not clean, and the heat was very hard to regulate. Some parts of the house would be warm, hot, and cold all at the same time. No bath mats.
When I entered the property there was a window upstairs which had been left open and the entire house was freezing. There’s a very odd assortment of dishes, not a place for doing any real cooking. I tried to use the oven and it smelled of gas, so I just turned it off. I then moved to the toaster oven which was filthy.
There are no curtains in the living room or the kitchen, so you feel a bit like you’re in a fish bowl. The master bed is comfortable on one side, but the other is saggy and lumpy. The “bedroom” upstairs has a trundle bed with is not much more than a twin bed. Overall it is very uncomfortable, just seems slapped together without thinking about the comfort of the guest experience. It could be a cute place if more effort were put into cleaning and management.
