If you enjoy your own space, you'll find a new experience in each of the 5 themed bedrooms. If you would like to gather with your group, hang out in the large living room, sunroom or spacious formal dining room. Looking for bathrooms? We have 4! Enjoy sitting on the porch with a cup of coffee and a friend or take a very short walk to the diner and grab breakfast.

This is a beautiful, well maintained home with lots of space for a family. The location was great for exploring Black River Harbor, Copper Peak and even the Apostle Islands (a little over an hour drive).

The house is nice, large and lots of beds. There was room to park 5 trucks with trailers and UTVs. It was close to the trails and met our needs for the weekend.

This was a fantastic vacation! The house was even better than the pictures. It was very clean and comfortable. The host helped us find a mechanic to fix our unexpected car problems. She also helped ship a few items we left behind. Such a great experience!

Comfortable Home

Everything about our stay was perfect! The home was centrally located to all the events in which we were participating. The ski hills and ABR are only minutes away. There was ample parking for all vehicles. The home was comfortable, clean, and well equipped. The owners were easy to contact and the driveway was plowed quickly. We had a wonderful weekend and would not hesitate to book again!

Visit to Western UP

very clean, well situated property. Total of 6 stayed at the property (family of 4 + in-laws) and everyone had plenty of space for bedrooms and bathrooms. Kitchen space and utensils were very useful for night time dinners and cooking. Location was near downtown Ironwood which made for easy walking and sightseeing. Loved walking to Rigoni's bakery for what we considered the best home made pasties and baked goods in the area. Great location to see all of the Western UP sites (Black River area, Copper Peak, Houghton, Copper Harbor, Apostle Islands, Porcupine Mountains, etc). We really enjoyed our stay.

Historic Home That's Centrally Located

It was a beautiful home with spacious rooms and an abundance of beds. There is easy parking and additional spaces two doors down for added vehicles. We had six adults and everyone, except Mom & Dad, had their own room. Multiple beds in each bedroom meant that we could have had 4-5 more guests comfortably. Ample table seating, servingwear, utensils, mugs, cookware, and refrigerator space for a large get together. There are so many family events like hiking trails, boating, shops, mine tours, and parks to visit in the area. What a dream rental.

Loved this place!

Stayed 3 nights for a weekend family reunion in area. The place was beautifully updated, spacious, comfortable, and had every amenity you could ever need. The beds, sheets, pillows were comfy, plenty of hot water, air conditioning units worked fine during the warm days. The dining room could easily seat a dozen people (altho we didn't have that many). The property was very close to downtown to be near restaurants, the brewery, and other businesses. Instructions on what needed to be done while in residence or upon leaving were clear. The front porch was a great place for a morning cup of coffee.

Home for the 4th!

Our family was looking for a big enough house so that we could all stay together to celebrate the 4th of July with our extended family and friends. This house was more than perfect! The house was clean, well decorated and equipped and met all of our needs. We will certainly be back!

Old Guys UP Retreat

We have been going up to the UP for over 30 years to ski and snowmobile, etc., andTrailside Retreat is truly the best place we have stayed. Will definitely be returning next year.

Lovely Ski Weekend

We have been coming to the Ironwood area for nearly twenty years. Typically we stay at the downhill ski resorts, however, this time, we stayed at this property. We were so happy with the space. It was perfect for socializing with our friends, cooking, and sleeping. The beds were comfortable. There was a cozy, well-lit sunroom. It was clean and spacious with plenty of bathrooms. It was minutes away from our favorite cross country skiing. Our friends said multiple times that we should book the place again for our annual trip next year. Thank you to our hosts!
