"By far, OYO Rockssar was the best 2-star hotel we experienced in this 3 week trip in the Philippines from Iloilo to Cebu (OYO in Moalboal cancelled on us last minute so not impressed =(), to Panglao, Coron then back to Manila. It was clean, simple setup, spacious, airconditioning worked and right at the heart of the city, close to the airport for transfers, staff were very helpful with needs re comforts esp when we arrived on a brownout on 40 degree heat. "5 stars, keeping in mind how inexpensive it is. Clean, AC and hot water work, bug free. The bed was firm like everywhere else I’ve stayed in SE Asia but I found it comfortable. This is run by a very nice family and they were helpful booking me a trip to the underground river and my next leg transportation to El Nido. They also have a couple of good scooters to rent. I paid 500 pesos a day for the scooter. "

"Water heater was not working in the first room. Later we got assigned a new room, which is quite dark in the day even though there's a window because the window is facing inside the building. The drainage of the bathroom needs to be cleaned better because there was an unpleasant smell whenever you take a shower. Good thing is the hotel provides a complimentary airport shuttle and the staff is friendly. To those with walking inconvenience, there is no elevator in the hotel. "

"Fight Club Philippines is the newest, upcoming center to train and to relax. It is nestled in the secluded mountains just north of Puerto Princesa. Beyond the training, the resort is well manicured, an excellent restaurant, infinity pool, games room, and massage facilities. If you've been to the island of Palawan, you'll know that there are rolling black outs and internet connectivity issues. BUT NOT AT FIGHT CLUB PHILIPPINES. The facility has it's own power generator and Starlink internet....

"Du får vad du betalar för, det vill säga inte så mycket i termer av "standard" och komfort. Det ligger lite mitt ute i ingenstans men ändå okej utgångsläge för utflykter en bit utanför (norr om) Puerto Princesa, exempelvis underjordiska floden. Personalen är jättefin och hjälpsam, och kan ordna duglig frukost och övriga måltider, samt hjälpa till med att boka utflykter. "

"We've been here before so we already knew that the rooms are worn, that there's no WiFi in the room (and in the public areas where there is - it's poor), that the grounds need more attention, and that the public restrooms near the sports desk are disgusting. The boats are also awful, with uncomfortable plastic benches. We returned anyway because the view is spectacular, the pools are fantastic, and the food at the restaurant is OK and reasonably-priced. Having no other such island resort option...
