“Great place to stay, reasonably priced and in a great location for accessing Abel Tasman Park and all the things you can do there plus the towns of Motueka (5 minutes), Mapua etc. As for the lodge, we really enjoyed the communal feel and chatting with people from all over the world. The breakfast was excellent and included their own eggs, fruit, and freshly made scones and muffins. ”

“Es un lindo lugar para el verano, ubicación inmejorable entras caminando al parque nacional, da para disfrutar varios días. Llevá comida porque está medio aislado, y abrigo, las habitaciones están muy bien pero los baños y cocina son algo frescos ya que tiene huecos al aire libre y se enfrían. Abel tasman es hermoso, volveriamos sin dudarlo”

“At the time of writing, this hotel has a 9.2 on Expedia. That is truly absurd.
This hotel is old (they don’t call it “historic” for nothing) and run down (featuring peeling wallpaper, a saggy matress, threadbare carpet and a kitchen that looks like it was built in the 80s). Making things worse, there is literally not a single thing of interest in Kumara (it only exists because it is a stop on the West Coast Wilderness Trail).
