This rental is well maintained and nicely decorated. They have some antiques that are very nice, including an old tv, i mean old. It’s a work of art in its nicely finished cabinet.
However, It is poorly equipped. Owners are not responsive, they are abrupt, and rude.
We had to ask for more bath towels (there was only four, we are a party of six). They insisted via text that we hadn’t checked sufficiently. When we replied that the property had only 4, they reluctantly brought two more. After we checked out, they were asking why there was not 8 towels. Rather than acknowledge that they had not sufficiently stocked their property, they had the gall to inform us that their cleaner reported that they were 2 short.
We also needed them to bring bedding for the double bed/couch in the living room. Same response, “look again, check the closets”. Again, reluctantly brought when we insisted that there was none.
We also had to ask for more dinner plates, only 5, along with some pieces of silverware as there was not enough knives and spoons for us all. Thankfully they did have 6forks. No plates or silverware was brought. There were also only two water classes, four “rocks” glasses, and five coffee cups. No wine glasses, but they did have a wine opener!
There was no dishwasher, which was fine, but also no towel to dry dishes that were washed. They did have a towel dropped off when we requested it.
No broom or vacuum. After some chips fell on the rug we took it outside to shake it out. Thankfully my college aged boys were with us as it was heavy. The only other option would have been to pick up each spilled bit, but by bit.
If you are planning to sleep only, then this is the place for you. The mattresses are great (Tempur-Pedic). If you are planning on making any food, go somewhere else. You will smell whatever you cook for the rest of your stay. Why? There is no vent for the stove, and all the windows in the house, every one of them, is painted shut.
The location is eclectic. It’s in downtown Jacksonville. This unit is nicely taken care of (except for the windows being stuck). Homes nearby are currently being renovated (March, 2023). The neighborhood has some rougher areas, but we always felt safe. There are some beautiful older historic homes only a few streets away.
