The weather in the Willamette Valley of Oregon had been less than ideal for eclipse viewing for a few days, thick clouds were rolling in in the mornings and haze from wildfires took up the skies in the afternoon. Luckily, the gods heard our prayers and we had clear blue skies in the morning on Eclipse Day. Seeing the sky go dark and stars that we'd only see in the winter was an experience of a lifetime. Our sofá bed was wasn’t not clean at the moment we folded we have to ask for a clean cover sheet. We have to change it.. noise around 10pm an 11 pm because people is on the pool until 12 and then you can hear them walking or running and talking ..

Cozy home. I didn't get to meet Connie, but her husband was incredibly friendly and welcoming. He even kindly gave us a box of chicken eggs as a gift. I also bought some lavender oil from his farm, and the scent is absolutely wonderful.

Who puts a Victorian style kiosk at an interstate freeway rest stop? Well, apparently, the good people of Albany, Oregon. As the sign says, this cute little structure serves to commemorate the more than seven hundred historical homes and buildings in downtown Albany. I love this little thing, but get a load of the trailer hitch under the front window. I'll have to start looking for those in some of the older districts in the area. I did not realize that they were an architectural feature.
