Everything was nice, orderly, and clean. It was great having access to a washer and dryer, especially with kids. The shower head and water pressure were fantastic, which is nice after long days of walking. Even though we never met the host they were very nice and communicated with us quickly if we had any questions, especially when trying to figure out how to get to and from NYC and NJ. The beds were very comfortable and the blankets soft and warm. The bus stop is just up the road and you get a great view of the NYC skyline. Definitely recommend and we'll be staying here again if we ever come back to NYC.

The layout is railroad style with pocket doors! Typical Row house. Very clean and was just what we needed since family was only 10 min away! The ONLY thing was parking. We had a big van so it was hard to find one,but if you do have a car get back early and you will find a space or leave the car and dont move it! THANK YOU LILY AND SIMONE!

This home is charming and the hosts were great with communication about parking, etc. The location is perfect to see the NYC skyline. We walked to an affordable cafe (Las Chicas) for delicious breakfast and coffee, right around the corner. Bus stop is very close which was convenient for us. There is a full kitchen should you need.

Cute place, clean, easy transit to the City and beautiful views from right out front! . Adorable little cafe within walking distance with delicious breakfast and coffee! 10/10 would stay again next time we come to town!

The home was very close to a variety of restaurants and some shops! We were able to walk to nearby shops for breakfast and dinner. The hosts were very friendly and kind and the home was beautiful! We were happy to return to the house to relax and watch a movie after a long day of walking and exploring!

The property was charming and in a great location. The neighbors has a bunch of restaurants and bars within walking distance. Lily and Szymon answer messages almost immediately and were helpful with my questions about public transport etc. however, my favorite part about this property is the skyline view of NY, absolutely stunning! I would definitely stay here again.

I was very disappointed with this stay. Ants were crawling on me in bed—I kept killing tiny bugs on my arms and legs before realizing they were ants. Seeing ants in the house is one thing, but crawling on you in your bed is truly unsettling.To make matters worse, due to a booking error, we weren’t supposed to stay for all 5 days. I contacted the host immediately, but they refused to fix it. VRBO offered to cancel the transaction so I could rebook with the correct dates, but the host refused and only offered a very small reimbursement while keeping most of the payment.Because of this, I had to rearrange my holiday with my kids and couldn’t spend time at Virginia Beach, as I couldn’t afford two places. Mistakes happen, but only good people are willing to fix them.Parking is very limited. We chose 5 street parking instead of the 25 the host required at the neighbor’s property, since no parking is provided. But be warned you can look for a long time.

Had a wonderful stay at this calm n quiet property! The place was cozy, clean, and had everything I needed for a comfortable visit. I had easy access to local shops and transit. The host was extremely responsive throughout and super helpful, and this is the BEST thing about this place.

Great location, with convenient access to public transportation .

We had a fantastic stay at this property! The home is in a quiet, family-friendly neighborhood with super easy access to public transportation — the 128, 165, and 166 bus lines are just around the corner and take you straight into NYC. It made getting in and out of the city really convenient.The house itself was clean, well-maintained, and had plenty of space for our family of five. It truly felt like a home away from home. The host was very responsive and checked in during our stay to make sure we had everything we needed.Honestly, our only complaint is that we didn’t stay longer! This is a perfect spot for families who want to explore New York City but prefer to stay in a more peaceful, affordable area with all the comforts of home.Highly recommend!

Great location and family friendly

We enjoyed a nice long weekend trip and had a great experience. The home was clean, comfortable, affordable and great location. We'll definitely stay there again when we're in the area. The hosts were very communicative which was super helpful.

Decent stay

Good location but limited street parking options. Home was clean and beds were comfy. Kitchen was not well stocked with cooking/baking supplies. Only 1 bathroom with sketchy shower - only ran scalding hot. No provided coffee, cleaning products, paper towels or shampoo/conditioner/body wash. Bedroom layout not ideal, and no blackout curtains so there was light in main bedroom all night long.

Family NY Trip

Had a wonderful time as a family in NY. Home in Guttenberg worked great. Provided easy access to NJ Transit Bus route into the City and back. Once we figured out the routes it was very easy.

Walking distance breathtaking views

My husband and I came with our kids (11 and 12) We drove into New York 3 of the 6 days we stayed and got to see SOOO MUCH!!! Recommend the one world observatory, metropolitan museum, and empire state building. On our off days we stayed in Jersey saw the statue of Liberty (for free) and explored the town. There was so much to do we NEVER got bored! I would recommend to anyone!

Great plece

The apartment is nice and neighborhood is safe and clean, quiet. Close to New York (commute to Port Authority NY was easy and fast - several bus lines) . My family and I will definitely stay here again if we return for another visit to NYC area.

Stay in Guttenberg

We enjoyed our stay in Guttenberg. The location was very quaint and quiet, which is what we desired. The building is old as stated in the description however, not to put the place down there are some accommodations that could be improved on such as having a clean inner shower curtain for the bath and if providing towels and face cloths; there should be some type of fabric softener used. The towels were very rough dried from lack of fabric softener. Not a good feeling to use against your skin. No major issues occurred during our stay. The view from the waterfront was spectacular. Restaurants in the neighborhood was very good. Would definitely come back to stay in the area again.

Great base for NYC & NJ family vacation!

Was looking for a 6 night base for a NYC graduation & vacation with adult family & 2 dogs. Could not have been better! Steps from a beautiful Riverwalk, restaurants & a fabulous bakery. Two dog parks within 1 1/2 miles. Doggie daycare on same street! 35 minutes in to the city via GW or Lincoln Tunnel. Hosts Lily & Simon were friendly & welcoming. Spacious apartment.
