We loved our stay here! The unit was spotless, easy to access and had everything we needed. You truly can’t get any closer to the beach- the view was unmatched. We spent hours on the balcony watching whales, turtles and rays. Falling asleep to the sound of the waves each night was I credible. Highly recommend.

Check in was easy and info was complete and accurate. Host was quick to respond to any questions or concerns. View was impeccable, bed was comfortable. The building was a little dated but still good. Easy walking distance to food trucks, restaurants, grocery store and rental car if needed.

What a perfect place to stay for our 30th anniversary. The unit was as advertised. For me the bed was super comfy (always subjective). The sunsets off the lanai are amazing. We also saw dolphins and turtles (it wasn’t whale season so none of those). The beach is a short walk away and plenty of food options around but you MUST go to Leoda’s (it’s a short drive away). The beach chairs came in handy. Can’t say we used all the amenities so I can’t speak to the hot tub/pool but there is one onsite. We would definitely stay here again if we came back!

This place was absolutely phenomenal! The Maui Kai resort is the best location because you walk out the front straight onto the beach. I didn’t see another resort/hotel that could truly say that. The beach never got too crowded at all in that area. I will come back!!The room itself is perfect for two people - great new finishings on everything, plenty of space to cook all of the meals you’d like, all of the cooking utensils you could need, a comfortable couch and chair, a comfortable bed with plenty of pillows and blankets, a roomy bathroom/shower which came with a starter set of shampoos as well as a blow dryer, cable tv options to log into streaming services and last, but most definitely not least, an unbeatable view out the lanai (which had options to open/close the screens and curtains). We saw so many sea turtles from our room/lanai and again down on the beach right out the doors. We also lucked out and saw seals while we were there! I’d recommend renting snorkel gear and bringing an underwater camera because there is plenty to see right in the area.We went to a couple different beaches while there just to try the full experience, and the beach directly out of Maui Kai ended up being our favorite! We went on a few hikes that were within 30 minutes of the resort - Kapalua Coastal Trail, Mahana Ridge Trail and Ohai Trail. We also did the first part of the road to Hana and stopped to hike at Twin Falls then drove to the top of Haleakalā. All well worth it!

Lovely ocean views, Clean unit, 'builders grade' amenities reminds me of a holiday inn. Everything was functional, Walmart dishes and cutlery. Great for folks on a budget.

Can't get any closer to the ocean!

I have stayed in Maui Kai before-- this was my first time staying at this unit. I will definitely be back! Nothing beats the sound of the ocean at night! Unit was beautifully furnished and had everything we needed for our stay! Highly recommend!

Great Views!

Amazing view as soon as you open the door. Perfect place for a couple. Cooler, ice packs and chairs were absolutely key for beach time. Beaches are only a 5 min walk down a paved path. Very quiet and out of the way of the big resorts next door. Walking distance to amazing set of food trucks.

Steps from the beach.

This property is in a great location, clean and with a great view. Spent a lot of time on the lanai for beautiful sunsets, sunrises and turtle watching. Can’t wait to come back.

The best view

Great location, small but fully stocked place with the view that can’t be beat. We saw turtles and jumping whales with their babies. Some whales were pretty close. We did have micro ants all over the kitchen so couldn’t leave the food outside at all, and two praying mantises kept crawling into the room through the hole to the balcony, around the water pipe. But the view and the location made up for that. We’d probably consider coming back at some point. The view is just that unbelievable.

Don’t hesitate and book a stay here! We had the most incredible time. Loved the quiet beach, wonderful view of whales and turtles from the lanai, and everything within walking distance. I even got engaged here! We will absolutely be back.

Amazing location and view

We had the best time! Location was perfect. 35/40 min to the airport, start of road to haha and Paia. Also, just 15 min to Lahina. The view was amazing! Very clean! Had all the amenities! Was so nice having chairs and a cooler available to use. We will be back!

The view

For our first time in Maui we couldn’t have had a better place. The view was breathtaking. Falling asleep and waking up to the sound of the waves crashing on the shore was amazing. The condo itself was very clean and had everything you needed. I highly recommend staying here !

Wonderful but frustrating

We stayed at the Maui Kai in Unit 903 from 2-21-22 to 3-07-22. The view was outstanding once I removed the screens. The pictures I looked at did not have the screens blocking the view. Once removed the view was outstanding. First things first, the lock box definitely needs a little attention. I had to use my car key to pry the door open. Then the instructions make reference to a “key” but it is a card that is stuck to the back of the box. The instruction could have indicated that. People arriving late at night will find this frustrating. Next, sparse would describe the place. It would have been nice to have a little coffee and a couple of water bottles available for the first morning. Next, the toilet flushing chain needs to be fixed, about every other flush I had to take the toilet top off and adjust the chain. Two older women would not have been able to fix it. At night, the bathroom is too dark and needs a small night light. The toaster took about four or five tries to get the toast to stay down and cook. When my wife would open the cabinet doors, she was struck with a sewer like smell. The worst was the TV remote. On our last day it just did not work. The room is billed out as $272.14 per night and then the extra fees: Admin fee $149.00, Cleaning fee $165.00, Service fee $455.00 or $51.27 per night seemed way too high. The most frustrating part of all of this was how great the room and view was and how only a few dollars of repair, coffee, water, a cheap night light and a deodorizer would have made the stay completely wonderful.

Great views!

This was a wonderful property with spectacular views! I think we sat on the balcony for at least an hour every day. We could usually even see whales playing in the morning which was amazing. We were also very happy with the response from the management company when the balcony doors started to get stuck. They came out quickly and fixed them with no hassle to us. The location was also good - we enjoyed walking the beach from the building and ate several meals at the food truck pod just a short walk away.

Perfect stay in Maui

This beautiful studio condo has the best lanai to watch the whales breaching at sunrise and throughout the day! You couldn’t get any closer to the ocean. It in a very convenient location to walk to many stores and restaurants nearby. Love taking our daily walks on beachfront boardwalk. Staff and other residents extremely friendly and welcoming. Property management was responsive and quick to fix any of our problems. We had a wonderful stay and hated to leave this beautiful island! Mahalo
