Overall we enjoyed our stay here. The lanai and it’s views as well as location sets this property at the front of options to book. I will say that they had a serious bug problem in the kitchen, on the counters, stove, and around the trash can. It does warn against bugs in the agreement that you sign, but this is our 4th property we have stayed at in Hawaii and have never seen it like this. It was notice upon checkin, which means it was nothing we did or didn’t do cleanliness wise. They were some sort of ant. I get that bugs are a thing, especially in tropical areas, but we noticed them immediately upon check in, and when I brought it to the property manager’s attention, they placed a bag of bug spray and traps on the door for us to “handle”. Not really something I want or should have to do while on vacation. It prevented us from cooking as much as we wanted. I text a few days later when the problem had not improved and it took 3 days for a response.
Overall, I enjoyed the stay because of location and the lanai. It’s located just a mile away from downtown Kailua, an amazing poke place is just across the street (the poke hut), and prime location to be close enough to the hustle and bustle but far enough from crowds and noise. I am a pretty laid back person, so for me, the bugs were easy to ignore.
