Esta casa de estudio se encuentra en 5 acres de huerta, quebrada y jardines con la costa Kohala como telón de fondo. Los propietarios de la granja de los previos 20 acres con ganado vacuno, ovejas, cabras y pollos. Nos encontramos a mitad de camino entre las localidades de Hawi y Kapa'au - ambos conocidos por sus pintorescas tiendas y restaurantes. Aunque sólo un 5 minutos en coche a la ciudad, la casa está situado detrás de la carretera y está completamente rodeado de bambú alto y los árboles de palo fierro, lo que garantiza un ambiente tranquilo y privado. Los huéspedes pueden pasear por los jardines para recoger fruta de temporada, hierbas y verduras, visitar a los animales o relajarse en una cómoda hamaca para disfrutar de los vientos alisios. What can I say, Peggy and Ken made me feel like a guest in their home. The cottage is as advertised. The bed was amazing. The gentle breezes lulled me to sleep and I was able to eat all my meals in the home. the grocery is a 3 minutes walk to the end of the driveway. Everything you need to cook is there and they provided fresh fruit and lemonade. If you want to be away from the tourists and just relax, this is the place. I am a little hesitant to tell people about this place to keep it to myself but that wouldn't be right. I got up early every morning and hiked down Polulu Valley and had it to myself. This is also not a bad place for honeymooners either. Mahalo Peggy and Ken.

We had a wonderful stay at this charming and lovely cottage. The studio unit had everything we needed plus the beautiful green yard with palm trees to look out was very special. The hosts were very gracious to make us feel welcome. We felt very fortunate to have spent a week at this special cottage. We hope to return next year.

We loved our visit to the Big Island and staying at the Cozy Cottage. The setting was lovely, Peggy was an excellent host, and the location provided easy access to town. We highly recommend staying at the cozy cottage.

The setting was so beautiful. A lush, expansive, grassy lawn surrounded by gorgeous tropical trees and shrubs, a few ducks and hens roaming peacefully around the grounds. Very quiet, private, and peaceful. The room was comfortable and had everything we needed to cook a light meal or to just sit and relax. Peggy and Ken were wonderful hosts, checking in from time to time to see if they could help us in any way. We'll certainly be back.

Lovely property! Peggy was so sweet and left me some tea and bruschetta in the the room and gave a quick your. I ended up getting sick but it was a great place to recover. They were very responsive and helpful. I enjoyed hanging out in the hammock, the amazing vegetation and the sweet animals! And the grocery store is so very close! Loved my stay here!

This was much more than a residential rental and far beyond my expectations. It was an experience. In addition to a well appointed unit ideally suited to a single traveler or a couple was a beautiful, lush, well kept and managed country farm. Hens with little chicks scurrying across an expansive lawn, an occasional duck joining in, and a botanical depth hard to describe were all your view from the kitchen table. Stroll the grounds farther to view goats and the sheep. The on-site host was welcoming and eager to share in the workings of the operation. The property was very easy to find, and also convenient to local stores, shops restaurants, and historical sites. I was sad to leave and would return in a heartbeat. Treat your self to this one.

Wonderful cottage on farm nearby historic sites. Nearby snorkeling at Mokukona and Spencer. Nice swimming and hanging out at Spencer and Hapuna. Not for everyone if you aren't looking for a quiet farm setting. It's home to world's sweetest dog, Sushi. Overall, 5 stars.

Quiet, comfortable, country retreat. Great home base to explore the North Kohala area. Peggy, our host took us on a wonderful tour of their 25 acre farm and sent us off with some delicious avocados and herbs. We loved our memorable stay! ThanksPeggy!

We had such a wonderful stay! Peggy and Ken are warm, kind, good spirited people. Peggy surprised us with fresh Starfruit, avocados, apple bananas, and lilikoi. We never had Starfruit before and we were hooked, ate it everyday for breakfast. Their property is stunning and well maintained. We took a tour and met the goats, sheep, and cows. My daughter fell in love with Suishi, their sweet and friendly dog. Would definitely love to stay here again! Thank you for sharing your happy place with us.

We loved staying here! First of all, Peggy and Ken are incredibly warm and welcoming and such genuinely nice people. Peggy left us many snacks and other treats, and the unit is very private and feels like your own tiny cottage. The bedding and towels were older but cotton, and we were finally able to be comfortable (other places had polyester sheets that ran hot)! The location was excellent although very tricky to find and it's easy to miss the turnoff. We would definitely stay here again!

Very friendly and accommodating hosts, Peggy and Ken, arigato gozaimashita! The VRBO off the coastal road opens like a Shangri-La. It is close to the "high road" to Waimea and the coastal road towards Kona, great views both ways. Highly recommend.
