This was our 2nd visit to Kalkan. The villa was spotlessly clean and functional. It had a great view of Kalkan Bay and you could walk into town - it took about 15 mins to the top of the town although it was very hot and a taxi ride was easier. There are a few things to note however:
- Keys and security were an issue. There is only one set of keys for the house and no info given about the key safe. Our teenagers wanted to go out later than we did so we had to wedge the front door open for their return which I wasn't happy about.
- We didn't see the caretaker after our arrival. The outdoor area could do with some TLC - there were no nice plants, just some weeds around the pool and although there was an area out the back where the washing line was, it is very scrappy and there was no BBQ we could see. It had a roof terrace but an uncomfortable plastic table and chairs which weren't inviting plus our linen wasn't changed after 1 week as promised.
- The villa is very overlooked by the next door villa which is raised above it, and had a direct view of our pool and sunbathing area. Our 1st neighbours were very noisy and played loud music through the day and night - not the peaceful location we'd wanted.
- We arrived very late at night hot and tired. The listing does say you can order a welcome pack which we hadn't, but a bottle of water waiting in the fridge as a minimum would have been appreciated. There were also no kitchen basics like salt, pepper etc,
